    I brought my six-year old here for a chronic cough. Had a great consultation with a lovely female GP, who was efficient and very kind and caring and clearly excellent at dealing with children.

    In short, Rydal is an exemplary practice for GP surgeries. I was enrolled as a new patient speedily, and able to get a phone call and in person appointment with the wonderful GPs the same day I called. I was greeted very pleasantly at reception but most importantly, was listened to and not rushed when having my GP consultation. I’m aware I have to keep names anonymous but my GP gave me a thorough checking over and ensured I had a hospital follow up appointment booked in too, as well as a prescription to alleviate my symptoms in the meantime. It’s actually rather emotional finding a practice after 28 years and having a profoundly positive experience from the outset! I feel very assured that the practice will look after myself and its other patients when we need them again. Thank you so very much. Miss Zainab Hussain

    Had a blood pressure test that was too high and I also had a chest issue. Nurse offered to get a gp call back. I did this and within an hour, was face to face with my GP. Thorough review and next steps facilitated immediately. Always been very happy with Rydal and this was just another amazing experience. Thank you.

    Yesterday I was reviewed by the practice pharmacist . His advice was professional , kind and relevant and designed to improve my health. This is typical of the experience I have had with every doctor and nurse at the practice for the 26 years I have been at the practice. Very lucky to have them as my local practice.

    GP spoke abruptly informing me she was “very cross” that I had booked an appointment regarding my son’s medical condition to discuss medication to treat it. I explained it is prescription only medication and on speaking with the receptionist I had been informed this was the best way to proceed and a call back with the doctor was booked. I am a doctor myself and understand the pressures within the nhs, but it is inappropriate for anyone to be spoken to in the way I was. This could make many patients worried about calling their doctor to discuss their health, in case they are spoken to in this manner, and made to feel they are wasting their doctors time.

    Patronising, dismissive. Demand the patient to do all the leg work and openly refuse advice. I have to lie each time to get through the online booking system that otherwise keeps on advising me to attend emergency (?). Unfortunately until the GP diagnoses me I cannot use any pharmacy services or a private provider.

    Never struggle to get an appointment. All staff is helpful and friendly. Everything is explained in detail. Drs call when they say they will. Appointments run on time.

    I used the online econsult system to get a callback from my gp. This worked efficiently. I received my gp callback and was then offered a face to face appointment.
