  2. Review titled Attentive Nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 February 2024

Just had a routine smear test 9am today. The experienced nurse was utterly brilliant. Informative, directive and with warmth. As I walked out I cheerily told the receptionists how lovely she had been.

  6. Review titled My visit for a blood test

    by violetpp55 - Posted on 24 August 2023

I entered the building and went to the check-in place. Then after keying in the required info, I was informed if ny professional a and that the clinic was running 2 mins late . In about 10 mins I was called and escorted to my treatment room by a smiling, friendly professional, who ascertained that I was the person who was to have the test. She talked to me and set me at my ease. In less than 20 mins, the blood test was done almost painlessly.

Dear Vex1 Sorry about the delay in responding to your comments - I wanted to speak to the nursing team before replying. Firstly We are all really sorry that you left the practice feeling anxious and upset. Secondly thank you for feeding back on your experience - We use feedback as a way of improving our services. Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner has confirmed that the majority of our nursing team completed their phlebotomy training in City & Hackney, The Heath Care assistant that you saw completed her training at South Bank University who informed her that she wasn't to see anyone under the age of 16 for bloods, which we were unaware of. Unfortunately on the day that you came in we did not have an alternative member of the nursing team on site who would have seen you. Going forward the HCA is obtaining advice from City and Hackney to see if she can take bloods from under 16s and if she can't she will re-train and in the meantime we will ensure that no one under 16 is booked in with this Health Care Assistant. Once again please accept our sincere apologies and thank you for your honest feedback Jill White

  8. Review titled Recurring abscess, no answers, feeling dismissed and unimportant

by ABur - Posted on 09 August 2023

I've been getting a recurring abscess on the skin of my right buttocks for the past 18 months. It's been coming back every 3 months, in the same place, each time leading to rounds of antibiotics and then ultimately surgery and a long recovery. Each time this happens I see a different doctor, have to explain my situation again (despite all the notes on my account on the system) and get told the same thing. That they don't know why it's happening and to keep taking antibiotics or see what happens after the surgery. None of the doctors I see seem to take me seriously and realise this impact this has been having on my life, my job, my relationships and my mental health. I feel like none of the doctors really care about helping me get this resolved. It's not cancer or a life threatening disease, so it's not important. But this is affecting my job because of all the time I take off, it's ruined holidays or family events, there are weeks/months where I can't exercise or do the things I like to do, the hopelessness I feel because it keeps returning makes me feel a lot of despair, and it is incredibly painful. My visit feels like something they want to get over and done with, they attend to me like a tick box exercise. And it keeps coming back. And I keep going for more surgery. And I keep asking for answers as to why it's happening. All the while being told that they have to follow the steps and that they don't know why it's happening. I have yet to see a specialist, or be given any other avenue. And have never had a GP call me after surgery to ask how it's doing and how they can help to ensure it doesn't come back up with follow up check ups. This cannot be the rest of my life, it just cannot. I realise GPs are incredibly busy, stressed and over worked. And I realise this is not cancer. But I feel so overwhelmed, so isolated and like I have nowhere else to turn, as I cannot afford private healthcare and I have no idea how to resolve this for myself.

  9. Review titled Very responsive

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2023

Filled in an online form for about an uncomfortable, but non-urgent back condition right at the start of January when the NHS was really busy. Was very pleased (and a bit surprised) to get called back later the same day by a very friendly GP and then had some medication ready to collect from the pharmacist the next day.
