  1. Review titled They don’t care about you.

by Edina Varga - Posted on 23 April 2024

I’ve just been on the phone for an hour waiting for them to pick up, I needed couple of problems to assess. One of them was my lungs I’m coughing for months now. I needed my lungs to be checked out. I have a documents of my full check up in Turkey that there is something on my lungs and asked on the phone that where can these be translated, just for information because I don’t know. They were really rude on the phone and said they don’t know either, get them translated and bring it in. I said okay but I still need an appointment to check my lungs out. They said again, to get the documents translated and bring it in, until that they can’t do anything. But I said I don’t need that document to be translated to know my symptoms. And I’m telling you I do cough so hard for a long time now I’m gonna need an appointment. And asked what if I didn’t mention my full check up in Turkey would that be different. They said but you mention it so it’s too late and they hang up on me without giving me an appointment to check my lungs out. It left me so upset I cried for an hour. This practice never helped me with any of my problems. I have been with them for 7 years now and none of my problem had beed investigated properly. Long long wait times on the phone they are rude and not helpful at all and in the early morning, which is quite hard for someone working on late night shift to be up in the morning to ring them for hours and get no help whatsoever! Hey! You are dealing with ill people, hello! They need help.

  2. Review titled Dissapointing

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The reception staff let the practice down. They do not like you to make enquiries, talk over you and are very passive aggressive. I walked in to try and resolve my issues watched the lady before me being treated really well and everything was done to help her. When it came to my turn i was undermined regarding my own health and the receptionist made a patronising comment about i'd have to pay for my own prescription. Which i actually do already. This was definately intended to embarass me. When i called to enquire about a GP call back was further insulted. The behaviour is so abhorant, i believe the receptionists have been doing this for so long they don't know how to improve as they feel overly empowered as the gate keepers of patients health access.

  3. Review titled Horrible communication skills from the receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 February 2024

I called the GP this morning at 8am and straight away the answering message says all the appointments are gone. So opted for call back. I appreciate I missed the call as was ok train and lost network. I called back and said I missed the call and that was my mistake. The rudeness from the receptionist 'well we called you twice and bla bla'. I said ok, I appreciate that but what can I do now. Well call tomorrow at 8am and check if you can get an appointment. I asked today the machine said there is no appointments. Hence opted for a callback. Well if you call late, all the appointments are gone. 8 said I called at 8am. She is like well you didn't pick up the call when we called back. I just did not understand her anger towards me when not once did I deny not missing the call. Receptionists at this surgery (not all) are so entitled as they have the authority to give/deny appointments. They feel so above people and take their frustration from one patient on another. I did not once argue I did not miss the call but it happened, but it did not warrant this level of communication. Overall a good GP surgery, but receptionists ruin the reputation.

  4. Review titled Warm and supportive

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by C Riley - Posted on 28 December 2023

I came in for another appointment in December to see another nurse on 28/12/23 and from start to finish had a great experience. The person on the front desk was supportive and advised me of some options in relation to prescriptions. The nurse on my appointment listened to the background of my skin condition over the last few years and helped to progress me through finding a resolution. I found the individual extremely helpful and they listened to what I had to say carefully. Overall really pleased with the support received.

  5. Review titled Unhappy

Rated 4 stars out of 5

On Monday 11/12/23, I went to my surgery, after sitting for 45mins the doctor finally called me in( there had been only 4other people in the waiting room) I had gone for a Arthritis review, I was asked if I was in pain, how did this make me feel, and then suggested I saw the practice nurse about going on Statins!, yes I know I’m over wait manly because I can’t walk or exercise, I’ve never been tested for high cholesterol and my blood pressure is always ok, I can’t believe this Doctors attitude!, I explained my medication to him and how it affects me , but he didn’t care at all, very disappointed with this Doctor, and will ask not to see him again, ps he wasn’t even my Doctor.

  6. Review titled Helpful and proactive

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by C Riley - Posted on 28 December 2023

I came in for an ECG with a nurse on 21/12/23 and my experience was brilliant. They were on time, calmed any nerves and were extremely knowledgeable about what potential causes for an elevated heart rate may be. We discussed various potential causes and proactively sought to resolve and find a solution which was extremely useful for me. The service was the upmost friendly and calming experience. Cannot thank the individual enough for helping me. I came away from my appointment with confidence we would find a resolution which is ultimately all anyone wants from an appointment.

  7. Review titled Frustrating

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 November 2023

Feeling very frustrated with this doctors surgery over the past year. Constantly having to chase for results and given wrong information. I was booked in for 8 week jabs for my daughter and waited an hour, when I was finally seen they didn’t have the medication needed and I was never called to get an appointment. Turned up to her 12 week jabs, got here early to be seen and the receptionist hadn’t checked me in. So again I’ve waited another 45min with now several people infront of me. The receptionist said I’ll have to just wait no empathy or apology. Utterly useless.

  8. Review titled Great Practice and Amazing Reception Staff !

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2023

I had an appointment today at Nuffield House Surgery, and while sitting waiting for my time, something really touched my heart and made me realise that there are still such lovely, kind and caring people out there. (Head receptionist) had really given her passion and full care in to her role while providing such professional but at the same time caring, friendly and supportive manner to every single patient that walked through that door. Watching her warmed my heart. I had a miscarriage and have mild depression due to this and seeing all this warm and caring role from the beautiful Reception staff had really brightened my day and left tears in my eyes. I really needed to see this as for such a long time I have not seen people like herself out here. How pleasantly she dealt with my queries was amusing for me to see which I really needed. This feedback is all from my heart to her and I thank her a million for making me feel in this way which I needed for such long time. We visit our GP practices for a remedy to heal our health matters, whether this is mentally or physically but seeing such love and care as soon as you walk through that door does really create a therapeutic atmosphere and this is more valuable than a prescribed medicine. This was for me today as the lovely receptionist provided beautiful care and her passion for her duty was more valuable and curing.

  10. Review titled Experience depends on who answers your call

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2023

I cannot predict being ill beforehand (I am not a psychic) so I miss out on the online pre-bookable appointments. I stay on the phone at 8am and get cut off multiple times as the new system says they are too busy and cut. There is no holding system like there used to be. When you do a callback option, it rings once and cuts you off. Finally if you are lucky and you get through, all appointments are taken and you are told to call 111 or go A and E. Not all symptoms require that which is wasting resources. But to have the receptionist tell you how their GP is worse and this GP is better, I never asked or even complained about it. Just wanted to ask whether I needed to wait for a call from the doctor on hospital results or I was supposed to make it myself (you are damned if you do and damned it you don't). As I have had times, they claim I should have called and chased for it as they are too busy. Then she starts telling me how the phone and appointment system works, you wasted more time on the call to me than needed. You could have spoken to at least 1 maybe 2 people if you were not trying to educate me on how the GP operates. I luckily have private care so I utilise that more than NHS but hospital appointments are through NHS hence I am restricted at times. I understand there are patients that can be unkind and appreciate it is not nice for receptionists. However, not all of patients are like that and we do not need that treatment. I would rather be enjoying my life than be stuck on a queue and talking to rude people. Trust me! That said I would not say this is the worse GP surgery as there are nice people that work in reception and as doctors. It depends who is on the receiving end of your call.
