  1. Review titled Shambles of a surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kayleigh Robertson - Posted on 09 April 2024

I have been trying to get an appointment for over 3 weeks now. If I call at 8am, I sit in a queue for an untold amount of time only to be told when I eventually make it through, that there are no appointments left. I am unable to stand in a freezing cold queue outside at ⁷am due to having 2 young children and a job! Like the majority of the patients here. The online service is pointless as there are only ever blood pressure appointments available. All I need a is a referral back to my consultant, the Dr can't even help with my issue medically! With the symptoms I am experiencing, I'm becoming more and more worried that my diagnosis won't be great. I won't go to A+E either as they can't put me on the right pathway and it's a waste of time and resources. This surgery needs to take a long hard look at it's booking system and the politeness of their staff! Absolutely shocking!

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the difficulty in getting an appointment. We offer appointments on the day, face-to-face or over the telephone, booking in advance and online (our online appointments open 48 hours in advance. Please appreciate that this is a busy surgery, but we will always ensure that the patients can be seen in case of emergency. If you would like to discuss this in person, I am happy to do so. Many thanks, Annie Bailey (Practice Manager)

  2. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by unhappy - Posted on 19 April 2024

Despite being advised we can book appointments via the website, this is not the case. Waited over 40 minutes in the queue only to be told "there are no appointments - call back Monday" - presumably to repeat the whole pointless process. Why is it impossible to book an appoint on a future date, freeing up "on the day" ones for people who really need to be seen that day? Don't have the annoying voicemail suggesting it is "quicker to sue our website where you can book and cancel appointments" when you clearly can't. I see they are accepting new patients - if you want a chance of actually getting an appointment I would suggest you go somewhere else.

  4. Review titled Dysfunctional system

Rated 1 star out of 5

It’s impossible to book an appointment and the open access system involved waiting for nearly 3 hours to see a doctor. Other surgeries seem to manage demand by offering timed appointments. It feels as if the health service is literally disintegrating.

  5. Review titled 3 hrs wait to be seen

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2024

The practice runs a clinic in the morning between 8-10, I arrived just after 8, was sent to see the nurse although i explicitly requested to see a doctor. Was advised it would be "a little wait", 3 hours later, i am still waiting and there are 2 more patients ahead of me.

  6. Review titled Rubbish serivce.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Darren Bircher - Posted on 14 July 2023

After sitting on the phone for almost an hour, I was told there is absolutely nothing available for two weeks. If I want an appointment I have to turn up on the day and hope for the best, which I advised I could not do due to work. Basically told me there was nothing they could do about it and didnt even seem remotely concerned about it. Would recommend a different GP.

  7. Review titled Horrendous practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 June 2023

After a long wait on phone, I was told to come to the surgery at 8am and queue for an appointment. The Receptionist wanted full details of my medical condition in front of a waiting room full of people, so no respect for privacy or my confidential personal data. GPs don’t start work until 9am and I waited a total of 4 hours before being seen. It’s worse than living in a third world country.

  8. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

Not sure what you have to do to make an appointment. Told you need to call at 8am - then all the phones are engaged, until someone finally answers to then be told all appointments have gone. Or their new trick - making everyone line up outside (in all weathers) at 8am and then after waiting 2 hours to be told all appointments are gone! Why can't you just make an appointment for next week/the week after leaving the on the day appointments to those who need them on the day. It never used to be this bad - so not sure why the past 2 years have been so bad.

  9. Review titled Totally inadequate

Rated 1 star out of 5

Extremely poor service, often take more 72hrs to send script to pharmacy, my meds review are done every 3 months, everytime I order meds have to ask for at least 2 to be reviewed, so given up asking to be reviewed will go without, blood tests won't allow for me to have at Hospital which is more convenient, don't answer messages now into 17th day waiting for reply....appalling attitude from a 2nd bit surgery...can't cope with number of patients should really have shares in co-op funerals..

  10. Review titled No care and dangerous appointment system

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 May 2023

I have been with the practice over 30 years and have seen a huge decline in care .You can no longer get forward appointments to see specific doctors or any doctors and as I’m very disabled I find it almost impossible to see a doctor at all as you can’t phone and get one and you have to queue and maybe get an appointment but maybe not . Even though I use a scooter I have problems with my muscles so find it hard to sit and keep my head up so queuing for up to three hours or more puts me in bed for days afterwards. I am at a loss as to what I can do and there must be lots of people like me . I now try and treat things myself but because I have very complex medical needs I know I’m leaving things that should be seen by a doctor . I honestly think that deaths will be caused by this appointment system because it’s so difficult for those who need the doctors most . It’s a very sad state of affairs and needs changing ASAP . I have tried to talk to the practice about this but I don’t think they care I keep being told this is now post covid policy so there is nothing that they can do !. Can they not see it’s not working .
