  1. Review titled Waiting for rapid response

    by chachask86 - Posted on 08 January 2024

I was put on an antibiotic for a bad chest infection. I had some bad side effects which I rang doctors about. This antibiotic caused me to have black faeces , dark yellow urine, Guidyness loss of appetite and not feeling at all good. I spoke to a clinician who then spoke to my GP. Clinician rang me back and said I need blood tests done and some medication in case there was blood in my faeces. They told me rapid response would come to me that day to do the necessary. This was at 1pm. I rang doctors about just before 5. I didn't find the person I spoke to very helpful at all. I asked if they could speak to clinician tomorrow as rapid response never came. Their answer was they've sent email and there’s nothing else to be done!!!! As you can imagine I am very upset about this!

  2. Review titled Have never prescribed/removed my asthma medication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Deborah Harte - Posted on 11 January 2024

I joined this practice well over a year ago, if not longer. When I registered, I specified that my prescribed meds included Salbutamol and Beclometasone inahlers for the asthma I have had since being diagnosed at age 5. Since I joined, they have never added Salbutamol to my prescribed meds so I can order them when required, despite me asking more than once for them to add it. Secondly, they have now removed Beclometasone from my prescribed meds without any rhyme or reason. This now means I have to purchase both of my inhalers from an online provider because my own doctor does not, or will not. To say I am disgusted is an understatement. I am a former NHS nurse myself. The service at this surgery is beyond awful and pretty disgraceful. They have too many patients thus cannot manage those they have. I also have never been offered a mammogram from aged 50 and am 53 this year. All I was told was I 'missed the surgery's slot as a new patient', despite me being a patient for a considerable time. Terrible. Just abysmal.

  4. Review titled They do everything they can to not see a patient in person.

Rated 1 star out of 5

My 81-year-old Mum is a patient at this practice. For weeks she has had a hacking, productive cough and is also asthmatic. Weeks ago she contacted the practice and was allocated a telephone consultation. The doctor prescribed antibiotics and said 'We will see you if you don't get better'. She felt better initially, but now is back to square one. Again, she contacted the practice and had yet another telephone consultation. No suggestion of seeing her in person. Again they just spewed out an antibiotic prescription. This is disgusting, unethical, unprofessional clinical practice. They have basically used the pandemic as an excuse to continue to not see patients in person if they can avoid it. I am a former nurse myself. This goes against all standard medical assessment of a patient. You have to see the patient to assess them. You cannot listen to a chest over a phone, check Oxygen sats over a phone or see how a patient is breathing. They have zero clue if my Mum's cough is upper or lower respiratory or bacterial or viral. They just chuck out antibiotics and we are supposed to hope they work. Disgusting practice that I wish my Mum had never joined. Shameful service.

Considering the demands for Healthcare I think my practice does very well and I am extremely pleased with the treatment that I get from my GP
