  1. Review titled Appalling service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Neeroo Girdharee - Posted on 15 March 2024

I called this morning about an ongoing cough that I had previously reported. I was told a GP will contact me. I received a text message asking me to book a telephone appointment and the first one available is on 8 April 2024!!!! When I called the surgery again I was told nothing could be done and the receptionist rudely terminated the conversation because I was begging for help asap. This is not the first time that I have experienced such poor response and I have never received a response to emails I sent about it. Is this the customer care that we need to expect from the surgery now? I joined the surgery in 1993 and all I can say is that the service has gone downhill considerably. I know there are some good doctors taking proper care of patients but it sheer luck who gets to see you and I have been disappointed on several occasions.

  2. Review titled Thank you

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I would like to thank the practice from the receptions to the female Dr. that took care of my mother this week . The Dr. listened not only to me she also spoke gently and respectfully to my mother. Arranged an immediate prescription to a late night pharmacy and a Rapid Response Nurse to come out and see my mum that avoided my mum having to go to Hospital at night. So would like to thank them all the NHS at its best! Thank you for your care .

  3. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Martina - Posted on 06 October 2023

The timely treatment I have gotten this week is reflective of the great treatment I have gotten over several years with this practice. After having an accident last week I have been able to get quick treatment and advice from them. The receptionists are always helpful and when I was ill and upset earlier this year the doctor was so empathetic. The NHS is under so much pressure, but it's clear how hard these people work, thank you so much.

  4. Review titled Terrible neglectful practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am prone to skin cancer. A growth on my face appeared to which o got a phone appointment. Nobody phoned on the date, I was promised they will the next day 2 weeks later no call. It's not the first time they prove to be careless and neglectful. Since few years ago the doctor in charge left it went from bad to worse. Her successor is indifferent and lack of compassion in my and others experience. Go somewhere else if you can.

  5. Review titled Failure of duty of care

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 April 2023

I have been speaking to them for 4 days now about ongoing bleeding, including filling out a form to get an urgent appointment. They have instead booked a routine appointment days away. In the meantime my symptoms have got worse, however, they have refused to see me due to the scheduled routine appointment. While I was speaking to them about a further deterioration they rescheduled the routine appointment even further away and told me that I have to fill out a form yet again in order to get an urgent one, even though I have already done this. This GP shows no commitment to patient care. It pretty much refuses to treat emergencies as such. (I have spoken to 111 who told me that I should have been seen urgently days ago.) The form that they have for people to fill out is mostly "closed" and you can only fill out early in the morning, which goes against the NHS principle of treating patients during times that are convenient to them. This GP practice is not fit for purpose. The receptionists waste people's time with long-winded, repetitive explanations trying to make excuses and send patients on a run-around about conditions that should be treated urgently. There is no respect for the intelligence of the general public and no duty of care. The sign that they have on-site that they do not tolerate aggression is inappropriate since they are the ones employing an aggressive modus operandi towards the public. Refusing to deal with people reacting to your own aggression is abusive. I hope to see this practice closed and replaced by an honest and professional one that shows commitment to public health.

  6. Review titled Thank you for your help

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Hayley Peller - Posted on 19 January 2023

I was an extremely stressed Mum calling the surgery as I was told at the pharmacy that my daughters medication was out of stock from the suppliers. The staff member I spoke to at the surgery could hear my panic and went above and beyond to help me get it sorted. I cannot thank her and the doctor enough for their help. I was able to get the medication and have a happy child! Thank you Cornwall House.

  7. Review titled All round caring team

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 December 2022

I rang the GP to get a face to face appointment for my 18 year old daughter. The receptionist I spoke to was patient, empathetic, kind and really listened to me. She took the time to quickly solve the problem of patient consent, requesting a hand written letter from my daughter giving the GP consent to speak to me on her behalf. A GP contacted me within 3 hours and after listening carefully, and compassionately to what I had to say, booked a face to face appointment for the following day with one of her colleagues. The GP my daughter saw took a real interest in her concerns and after consulting with her about the next course of action has hopefully started the ball rolling on the best treatment for her going forward. My only issue, and hence not 5 stars, is that it took for me to get involved for her to have a face to face appointment, despite having tried herself on numerous occasions. In this instance though I could not fault the service we experienced, everyone I spoke to at the practice understood my frustrations and showed nothing but kindness, patience and sympathy.

  8. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Linda Moore - Posted on 31 December 2022

I rang Cornwell House surgery and spoke to a very pleasant receptionist concerning an urgent problem. She was extremely polite, patient and helpful, and arranged for a Doctor to see me the same afternoon. The Doctor was very thorough and arranged for tests for me. I would like to thank them both for their concern and prompt action. I came away feeling reassured and am extremely grateful to both of them. I am sorry that I am not allowed to refer to members of staff by name

  9. Review titled Excellent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was recently diagnosed with an illness and the surgery has been fantastic in offering me support. The Doctor I have dealt with is extremely caring and takes time to find solutions. The nurse was also very helpful when I was trying to take my blood pressure. They are a very good team.

  10. Review titled prompt and helpful response

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by achiad - Posted on 30 August 2022

I had to contact the surgy twice in the past month for the same issue. In both cases (one via econsult and once by phone) the GP hot back to me in a manner of hours (3 hours at the most!) And when needed invited me for a face to face consultation an hour later. After getting used to waiting days for response, my current experience with Cornwall house clinic could not be any better.
