  1. Review titled Efficient and Caring Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I phoned Earl Soham Surgery for test results. The Receptionist was efficient, polite and kind. I felt fully supported . Follow up by the GP was also efficient.

  2. Review titled Receptionist now doctors

Rang up this morning at 08.00 and got told for an non emergency appointment got to wait till August.... We are in march. Seriously this doctors surgery has gone to pot. The receptionist has more control than they should do. Apparently they have a medical degree. Time to change doctors

  3. Review titled Disgraceful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Receptionists there refuse to give appointments. Doctors don't diagnose properly. My partner has had a continuous cough for four weeks. He saw a doctor who didn't even examine him properly, then prescribed him amoxicillin for a week. The cough has since gotten worse a week later and when he asked to see a doctor again, the receptionist wouldn't give him an appointment. This practice is an absolute disgrace.

Another poor experience with practice, receptionist not listening or demonstrating any understanding, just feel fobbed off again.

  5. Review titled They send you round in circles forever

All they do is refer you to another useless practitioner who then refers you back again with no diagnosis

  6. Review titled Hasn't bounced back after Covid... unhelpful and difficult

Rated 1 star out of 5

Fantastic surgery when I first moved here (7 years ago) but sadly is not the case now. It is proving increasingly difficult to actually get an appointment or to see a Doctor - you are pointed to make an effort in every other possible direction, whether it's to physio or an Optician, etc. All, may I add, at additional time, effort and cost and not always appropriate. When - and if - you do actually get an appointment, not only do you turn up to find it's with a Nurse Practitioner or a Paramedic (who are fantastic but can't prescribe, so you'll need to come back and see a Doctor!) but it's so far in advance (generally I've found about 4 - 5 weeks!) that I've been left sincerely hoping that nothing happens in the meantime. The Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics and all medical staff are all fantastic and generally very caring when you do eventually get to see them but the lead-time and ability to book an appointment really needs to improve.

Thank you for taking the time to review our practice. We value all patient feedback & will share this with the team. To try and improve access for urgent and new problems we have developed an on the day team. The team consists of a 2 x paramedics, advanced nurse practitioner and practice nurse. The duty GP provides oversight and supervision as required. There are members of the On the day team who can prescribe. Regrettably we can't comment on individual circumstances online but please contact the practice at framlingham.medicalpractice@nhs.net to discuss further if required.

  7. Review titled Not sure what's happened

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I moved to Framlingham 5 years ago and was initially very impressed with the surgery. I was always able to get an appointment with a doctor and could even book to see one online. However in the last couple of years this is no longer the case. I now have no idea how to actually see a doctor. If you ring up for an appointment on the day you are given one with a paramedic (who is good and kind, but not a doctor). You can not book appointments in advance. How do you see a doctor?! I have been prescribed medication over the phone with no examination and renewed it online without any review - despite it only supposed to be used with medical supervision. Where are the doctors?

  8. Review titled Not equipped to handle the community demands

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Annabel Britcliffe - Posted on 06 June 2023

I cannot complain about the staff or quality of care, that myself and my family have received at Framlingham doctors surgery. However, the surgery is clearly under equipped to deal with the number of patients in the local and wider community who are patients of the surgery. Wait times for the phone to be answered are regularly 30 minutes plus, despite being number one in the queue. There are rarely any appointments available, unless you want to go to out of hours GP or Emergency on the day, I’ve never been able to see my own doctor. Basic needs such a contraception care are failing, with the advice to go to Ipswich. Clearly this surgery needs an input of resources to obtain the correct number of staff for the community it serves.

  9. Review titled Very poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

1.Don't bother phoning at lunchtime - despite being told your are no 1 in the queue, nobody answers - I gave up after waiting half an hour. I did get through later in the afternoon. 2. I returned filled in forms for the doctor at reception around 4 months ago - I have heard nothing back. 3. Why when you have a non urgent problem, can you not book an appointment in advance ? Everybody has to ring at 8am to get a same day appointment. This means that people who really do need a same day appointment have to compete for appointments with those who don't. It cannot surely be that difficult to organise a system to reserve appointments in advance to ease the 8 am congestion and stress for everybody.

  10. Review titled Pretty hopeless

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 March 2023

Called on 15th March to make a non urgent appointment regarding a skin issue. I was surprised to get through relatively quickly this evening after trying earlier in the day and discovering I was No 15 in the queue, or at best no 9. Told that the next available telephone appointment with my GP was on 26th April, or I could use the e-consult service, that my GP would read the e-consult form and possibly override the appointment system and see me. I was informed that there was a box to tick on the e-consult form which allowed me to specify that I wanted to see my own GP. Completed the e-consult form but nowhere was there an area to specify that I wanted to see my GP. I called the surgery back and waited for 15 minutes despite supposedly being No 1 in the queue. When a different receptionist answered she told me there wasn't a way of requesting seeing my own GP, but that I would be referred to a skin clinic in Wickham Market. It turns out that I could have just phoned the surgery, told them about the skin issue and they would have put me on the waiting list for the next skin clinic without me having to fill in the e-consult form! This is the second or third time I have had completely conflicting information from the reception team and I've spent about an hour unnecessarily dealing with this. If there was another GP surgery I could attend I would do so as I am losing faith in this one and it is nigh impossible to get to see a GP within a reasonable time frame.
