Ridic experience recently following all the steps dot on 8am still no appointments no nurse appointments either, finally get sent a txt for an appointment only to show up and tell me they cant find my appointment. Im spoken to over the phone and not seen face to face hence needing to make another appointment and then zero help with the issue even though I had had to speak to out of hours GP as I had become very poorly she told me my surgery should have dealt with this when I had called them. The nurse was useless the receptionist was rude and the doctor was clueless not reassuring at all and not helpful wasted afternoon off work. This is why people either don't speak up or decide to treat themselves.NHS isnt on its knees for nothing!! the service we as tax payers fund cannot even help you when you need it! I cannot believe that a surgery that has at least five reception staff at least 4 nurses and 4 doctors are too busy to see you and instead use guess work to trouble shoot!

I’ve stayed at this practice for 30 years because Doctors, Practice Nurses and Reception staff make for a positive experience at times when you need it most. They’re helpful and efficient, and have listened and treated me as an individual; something a patient expects but doesnt always get it seems.

I request an appointment via an online portal. I was given an appointment in 2hours. I was listerned by amazing nurse practitioner and I was treated straight away. Highly professional and caring surgery. Thank you. You make NHS proud.

I hate phones, i hate making calls and receiving them. My name at the practice has "no phone calls" in the middle of it, that seems to be the only way they can put that on my notes. I don't mind as long as it is noticed. But i still have to call as their appointment system is pants. It was advertised as "make appointments when you want rather than hanging on the phone", but that does not work. It opens at 8am and closes before 8.30am. So i am forced to phone them, when i get distressed on the phone they think i am shouting or something, today they actually put the phone down on me. Can you imagine how distressing that was when i was not shouting, i was distressed. When i phoned back she had actually done what i had asked, contacted the pharmacist to contact me face to face or via text, but if i had not plucked up the courage to phone back i would not have known and spent the rest of the day scared that i would not get my medication changed. However she kept saying she was not there to be shouted at even though i had not shouted at her, my voice raises to a higher pitch when i am distressed, along with most people. I told her that in the original call but she still put the phone down. This is why i don't want to call, i had a very bad experience on the phone with my previous surgery and it has left lasting scars which this phone call this morning has opened up again. I know she did not mean to upset me by putting down the phone but surely they need to be trained to see the difference between abuse and distress. But then if the booking system worked better i would not have had to do what is a nightmare to me and phone. We don't always want an appointment that day, but the system of phone triage takes no account of that. Anyway I can't take a phone triage call in my job even if i wanted to. That just does not work for some jobs and people. There needs to be a second appointment booking system which clearly states we would not get an appointment that day. Then at least less urgent problems would not have to use the "today" appointment system and clog that up when others who do need to be seen today cant get on the system. Probably haven't explained that well, i am still very upset. Really like the doctors and nurses, the receptionists are good too when i have been able to talk to them without getting upset, but the system sucks.

I have been trying every day for the last 3 months to book an appointment online and there has never been availability. I was previously at Yaxley surgery and could pop a not for a doctor or nurse at any time of day and would get a triage call back to book an appointment if needed . The booking system for this surgery is abysmal. Every morning I log in and every morning I am told there are no appointments.

I had an occasion to visit this surgery at short notice and the doctor I saw was remarkable in recognising my problem. I was treated to my utter satisfaction, and thoroughly recommend the practice for good treatment.

I had a requirement to contact the Specialist Mental Health Practitioner. It was most refreshing to get a telephone appointment almost immediately, my enquiry was dealt with during this consultation to my utmost satisfaction. Well done Thorpe Road Surgery.

Easy to book an appointment online, I was offered a slot next working day. Minimal wait time before being called in, the GP was very friendly and made me feel at ease, she answered all my queries and reviewed my medications to ensure all was up to date. All round good service.

I used to book appointments online with other GPs and never had a single issue. I rarely need appointments but it’s not the first time NHS has failed me when I needed. I’ve tried for a couple of hours now to book an appointment and there is no way (I tried calling the GP, going to the practice website, NHS app, and Patient access) and all tell me I can’t book it. The page tells me it's temporary unavailable and are unable to offer appointments. The book appointment page shows me only admin queries, online advice, and urgent help (which is not the case). I even tried the admin queries just in case and got a message saying that I need to fill a ‘I need help with a medical issue’ form. I’ve looked all over and there is no such form. I’ve tried to reply to the message but it was not delivered. Very frustrating experience overall, this practice failed the basics. Considering changing GP as this is not okay. Not sure why people are forced to contribute to NHS with our taxes, it’s never available when you need it and the service is terrible! Would much rather pay for private but can’t even do that without going through NHS systems!
