Excellent local practice with clear 'old fashioned values' and a very person centred approach from all employed there, I continue to see the same GP unless a emergency appointment, my initial consultation was with a friendly, respectful GP who genuinely listened to my concerns, a refreshing change for me and a welcome one, keep up the good work, your shared values are evident and you are exactly what a GP practice should be.

Having relocated to York last year I was nervous about finding a good doctor. I feel incredibly lucky that our nearest practice is Dalton Terrace. I need regular blood tests & the nurse here is just lovely. Always welcoming and smiley. My husband & I have never struggled getting an appointment & our prescriptions are processed very efficiently. I’ve seen two doctors now & both have spent time discussing my issues.

Im response to my reviews the practice manager has asked me to call twice but the receptionists will not put me through. I have complained to NHS England about their behaviour but they say it is the responsibility of the practice manager - hence why you can never get through to the practice manager. The receptionists police any type of communication & will only let you speak with a doctor or the practice manager if they approve of it - this is dangerous as they appear out of control & couldn’t care less. The receptionists let the practice down.

I'm sorry that you were unable to get through to speak to me. The Reception Team receive numerous calls each day asking to speak to me, the majority of which are 'sales calls' which I ask them to 'filter out' as I simply don't have enough time to speak with them all. I suspect that your call was caught in that filtering process for which I apologise. As an alternative can I suggest that you send an e-mail containing your telephone number, marked for my attention to daltonsurgery.reception@nhs.net and I will call you at a time convenient to you to discuss the problems that you have encountered? I look forward to hearing from you.

I recently joined the practice along with my two children having just moved to the area and I am very pleased to have done so. I have needed two appointments for my child who has been unwell over several weeks and did not have trouble seeing a doctor& getting an appointment. On both occasions, in the appointment I felt listened to and appreciated how thorough the questions were by each doctor and that they clearly explained their assessment and the reasons for their recommendations. I also found them to be empathetic and gave me choices as the parent and the option to return if symptoms did not improve which is always reassuring particularly with a baby. Great doctors!

We should like to express our gratitude for the help and support we were given, and are still receiving, during 2022 by the Doctors Nurses and Clerical Staff during what was for us a very challenging year We were always able to book an appointment to see a practitioner personally or book a telephone appointment with an appropriate member of staff. The above very much reflects the surgery’s approach to their work and their patients. Very many thanks

I can’t get past reception to speak to the practice manager even though the practice manager asked me to ring (see my previous review below). Receptionists are awful - really hostile & controlling.

I registered as a temporary resident from Florida. I needed their services and it was superb!!! The front desk and the pharmacist were very caring and ensured I was cared for. I highly recommend this surgery.

I received a very frosty response when I called in to reception to check if I was still registered after moving abroad for some time. I felt quite clearly that I was not wanted as a patient and a couple of months on have still not re-registered with a GP as I'm not sure where to go given this is my previous and closest GP surgery

The receptionist told me my address is not in their catchment area as over the river (its just a mile from me). I looked on the NHS website and this is untrue as it gave me this as a GP I could use. Receptionists sound frosty - possibly have an agenda.

As a person with chronic health conditions I visit the surgery more than the average patient. The practice team at Dalton Terrace have never failed to impress me. GPs, nurses and administrative staff have always been incredibly helpful and if I have needed to see or speak to someone urgently they have always done their best to accommodate me. Repeat requests and test results are always processed quickly. Never demonstrated more than this morning when I phoned when the surgery opened and had been seen in under an hour by a nurse practitioner!
