The Royal Hallamshire Hospital is situated a mile from the city on the Trust's central campus. Nearly 6,000 staff work at the Royal Hallamshire in a wide variety of clinical and non-clinical roles.
The hospital has around 850 beds for the care of inpatients and a number of specialist outpatient clinics including a prosthetic eye department and specialist ophthalmology centre.
A Minor Injuries Unit offer services for people with small injuries that that can be treated without the need for emergency care.
Visiting Times
At the Royal Hallamshire Hospital visiting times are 8am to 8pm. (Please speak to the nurse in charge if you need flexibility outside of these times as that can often be arranged).
However, in special circumstances, for example if you are travelling long distances to visit, please contact the ward manager in advance to discuss other possible arrangements.
Alternatively, most patient bedsides now have a telephone which can make and receive calls and internet access, which are available 24 hours a day.
