Northwick Park Hospital is part of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust and a major acute (general) hospital in the London Borough of Brent.
The hospital provides a range of services including maternity, neonatal, paediatrics, maxillofacial, orthopaedics, neurology, cardiology, elderly care medicine, surgery and a regional hyper-acute rehabilitation unit for patients with additional on-going acute medical needs.
In 2014 four new state-of-the-art theatres were opened and a new £21m A&E department was opened closer to other emergency services, such as acute assessment, operating theatres and wards to ensure that everything is close by for patients who have a life-threatening emergency so they can see the right clinicians for the right treatment at the right time.
In 2014 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) highlighted the excellent service provided by our stroke and STARRS team at Northwick Park Hospital.
Maternity services at Northwick Park have seen recent investment in a new transitional care unit and a specialist antenatal facility.
The diabetes and endocrinology department provides a full range of diabetic and endocrine tests as part of both inpatient and outpatient services.
Opened in May 2006, Northwick Park boasts a regional centre for oral and maxillofacial surgery treating patients with head and facial trauma and cancers of the head and neck.
As one of eight hyper acute stroke units (HASUs) in London, Northwick Park provides people in Harrow and Brent with a specialist centre of excellence on their doorstep.
Along with the busy accident and emergency department, there is also an urgent care centre run by Greenbrook on site for patients with minor illnesses and injuries that are urgent but not life threatening open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
