We employ over 6,000 staff and provide Urgent, Planned and Specialist Care Services across an area totalling 2,200 square miles.

We work from over 60 sites across Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland. We also have a number of regional and national specialist services.

Departments and services

We provide services to a local population of 1.4 million people, covering Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland, a geographic area of approximately 2,200 square miles.

The Trust also provides a number of specialist services to a wider regional and national population.

Our services are organised as follows:

  • North - Covering Northumberland and North Tyneside

  • Central - Covering Newcastle and Gateshead 

  • South - Covering Sunderland and South
