Specialist orthopaedic hospital.
The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RJAH) is a leading orthopaedic centre of excellence. A specialist hospital with a reputation for innovation, the NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of musculoskeletal (bone, joint and tissue) surgical, medical and rehabilitation services; locally, regionally and nationally.
A single site hospital based in Oswestry, Shropshire, close to the border with Wales, as such, the Trust serves the people of both England and Wales, as well as acting as a national healthcare provider. It also hosts some local services which support the communities in and around Oswestry.
Our Vision is:
“ To be the leading centre for high quality, sustainable orthopaedic and related care,
achieving excellence in both experience and outcomes for our patients ”
The hospital has nine inpatient wards including a private patient ward, ten operating theatres, as well as extensive outpatient and diagnostic facilities. Outreach clinics are held in neighbouring healthcare facilities to ensure that specialist services are provided as close to people’s homes as possible.
RJAH has excellent clinical outcomes and low infection rates. A key objective of The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is to maintain a clean culture throughout the Trust and to ensure that hand hygiene and infection prevention are of paramount importance.
The Trust performs over 2600 hip and knee replacements for patients every year. It is a leading centre for enhanced recovery, with the average length of stay for hip and knee replacement being just three days, meaning that there is great attention given to allow patients to recover more quickly from surgery.
