Pharmacy Patient Questionnaire feedback – 89 Orsett Road

  • Generally the feedback provided by the patients is very positive
  • 70% of the patients indicated that they were able to collect their prescriptions straight away, whilst a majority of the remainder indicated that they had to wait for a short period in the pharmacy.
  • Most of the patients who choose to come back later did so, because they had shopping to do.
  • When responding to the questions about the pharmacy and its layout, approximately 80% indiacted that it was very good, with the remainder indicating that they ‘Don’t Know’ or it is ‘Fairly Good’.
  • Greater than 65% of the respondents indicated that the staff were polite, they were happy with the service from both the staff and the pharmacist and that they did not have to wait long to be served.
  • When asked about how well the pharmacy provides the following services, the responses were as follows:

 

  • Providing advice on a current health problem or a longer term health condition – 60% indicated Very Well, with the remainder being split between Fairly Well & Never Used.
  • Providing general advice on leading a more healthy lifestyle – 85% indicated Very Well, with the remainder being split between Fairly Well & Never Used.
  • Disposing of medicines you no longer need – 80% indicated Very Well, with the remainder being split between Fairly Well & Never Used.
  • Providing advice on health services or information available elsewhere – 80% indicated Very Well, with the remainder being split between Fairly Well & Never Used.

 

  • The main area that needs to be addressed is either the pharmacist or the pharmacy staff providing advice to patients on the following areas:

 

  • Stopping Smoking
  • Healthy Eating
  • Physical exercise

 

  • When asked to indicate whether they had received any advice, 80% of patients indicated they had not, with 5% indicating that they would not expect pharmacy staff to be forthcoming with this advice unless the patient had asked a direct question regarding one of these lifestyle factors
  • When asked to take all of the above factors into consideration and provide an overall rating for the pharmacy, the patients responded with a 80/20 split between Very Good and Excellent

Electronic Prescription Service

This pharmacy offers the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you have nominated, this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving you time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long at the pharmacy as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
