my elderly nan had rang up to query why she had a delivery of medication a month early and was met on the phone with a rude and very abrupt man who made her feel very uncomfortable i talk to on the phone. His manner made her feel like everything she said was an inconvenience. he had no patience with her at all and in the end he got frustrated and passed the phone over to someone else, this had an affect on her for a few days after aswell. usually everyone at this pharmacy is lovely to speak to and happy to help anyone however this unfortunate encounter ruins it.

Hello, We are sorry to read your comment. Unfortunately, we have had a Locum Pharmacist covering this past week, this is no excuse for the way you have been made to feel. We hope you nan is okay after this unfortunate incident.

I have been a customer for many years now and they have been very helpful especially during covid. I had a repeat prescription recently and the pharmacist rang to say they needed to change my medication and we solved the difference over the phone. My neighbour is also a long time customer and too is grateful for what they do for him. Many thanks for all your help especially the front office staff

I went in for advice but there was a bit of a queue so thought I’d wait for a bit anyway… but whilst waiting I overheard the pharmacist talking horribly to a member of staff in front of the staff and it could be heard across the shop, I thought very unprofessional and I felt sorry for the staff member who quickly made an exit and looked as though she was crying. This made me leave the shop as I decided I didn’t want to seek advice from her from what I had witnessed. Very unprofessional of the pharmacist.

Visited to get my prescription on Friday but it wasn’t there, was told the surgery hadn’t sent it, phoned the surgery to be told the doctor hadn’t signed it off. Went back Monday and although I had to wait for it to be done as it had only come to the pharmacy today, staff were busy but still took the time to chat to the customers including myself, nothing was too much trouble. Good atmosphere and banter between the staff & us, didn’t have to wait long so was happy. Will definitely recommend and will continue to use this pharmacy. Thanks all for your hard work.

Terrible customer service, rude and lacking compassion, forever making mistakes but takes no responsibility, always someone else's fault! They truly are the worst pharmacy I've had to deal with. Obnoxious! Do not recommend!!!

Firstly I called on phone and was told to return in half hour to collect prescription, which I did. I then waited for 45 minutes with them claiming there were lots of people ahead of me. However, I witnessed at least 20 people walk in and leave with their prescriptions. When I enquired as to the delay, I was told with an extremely unfriendly and impatient tone that they are extremely busy. I have been without my medication for several days, feel very poorly and remained polite, friendly and understanding. But this pharmacy find it impossible to be nice to their customers. I know that front line workers have been disrespected by the public over the pandemic, but there is no reason to treat polite customers with such lack of respect and care. I will not be staying with Bear Street pharmacy in Barnstaple and I know several others who have left due to the attitudes of the staff too.
