    I was referred in May 2022 for a scan. Not heard anything since then apart from getting a letter of confirmation about the referral. Like others, you cannot get through on the phone unless you hold for hours awaiting your turn. When I did get through I was told that there was nowhere local to me to have the scan and it will be at least September before I get an appointment. I said that I thought this wait time was ridiculous and the response was that my referral had not been marked as urgent. This timescale would mean that I would not get treatment within the 18 weeks NHS time frame as the scan results are required to determine what treatment I need. They expect someone to take four buses to get to the appointment and then another four buses to get home because they cannot provide a local location. Whilst I am waiting my situation is becoming urgent (pain relief is causing my kidney function to deteriorate) and this is resulting in more stress on the NHS because I now have failing kidneys.
