  1. Review titled Worst A&E ever

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 May 2024

I was in a car accident and taken to this a&e in an ambulance and waited for 10 hours total even though I was in a head impact accident and had glass all over me. Genuinely never waited anywhere that long to be seen. Not only that the doctor who did see me was quite ignorant and did not do a full body check despite me saying I was in a car accident although I had another lovely doctor come and examine me. The reception nurses are rude and said I was low priority and for that I waited from 8:30pm to 4am to be seen and when I was seen the first doctor just wiped me down with water and no checks. I will never be coming to this hospital again and I don’t recommend any one else to. Quite a few people had left because of how long the wait time is. It’s ridiculous.

I have met today with F/C midwife from book in clinic. Wonderful lady that took care of me. She welcomed me and explained everything that she was doing. She has gone through the mountain of paper work and done an amazing job. She was well organised and had done my file orderly can not fault any bit. Thanks again Florence and Whipscross maternity. Been in Whipscross maternity before and everone was Wonderful.

  3. Review titled Exemplary gastroenterology service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Rod S - Posted on 24 April 2024

I have been in the care of Whipps Cross Gastroenterology for about 18 years from when I was first diagnosed with colitis. Throughout this time, my routine check-ups, periodic surveillance, and ad hoc care have always been exemplary. The nature of my condition means I could experience debilitating symptoms very suddenly, but I know I'm only an email or a phone call away from accessing their timely and reassuring advice if my condition flares. The consultants provide a very caring and timely service. Nothing is too much trouble. Thanks to you all in the Gastroenterology department. Your excellent care has made living with this condition easier. The very best of the NHS.

  4. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michelle - Posted on 19 April 2024

I attended ED after a fell and hurt my left finger. I was very impressed with my care. The streaming practitioner was friendly and reassuring. Took details and put me at ease straight away. She explained what the process was. I was directed to minor injuries I had a short wait. The nurse that saw me introduced herself and took a thorough history. Reviewed my injury and again explained I needed an xray. I am deaf in one ear and lip read the radiologist and assistant helped me to get into position and also made sure I understood. Back to minor injuries and nurse reviewed me again. Explained treatment for fractured finger, splinted it and gave me advice. I was very impressed with all staff in the department and thank them for the excellent care and kindness they gave me.

  5. Review titled Unprofessional staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ays - Posted on 12 April 2024

I would like to share my experience in Whipps Cross hospital yesterday I have a 4 years old son we went to the children outpatient clinic I had an list from my GP it says ' for children under the age 10 you do not need to book an appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 09:30-3:30 just walk in to the outpatient clinic. I have contacted the hospital to be sure that I don't need an appointment and they confirmed, so I didn't book an blood test appointment for my son and we just walked in to the clinic. When we went there the receptionist explain to me that this is bot acceptable and I have to book an appointment. I explained to them that I have an list shows that I don't need an appointment and also I contacted the hospital to be sure that I would not need one. The whole staff was really rude and unprofessional and unfriendly and unhelpful this was my first time in this hospital and my experience was horrible.

  6. Review titled Speedy service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Veema - Posted on 15 April 2024

Attended on Sunday night (around 10.30pm) after being in alot of pain with my throat, was seen and out in 2.5 hours which was brilliant considering how full the waiting room was! I wasnt entirely sure if coming to A&E was appropriate but I was in alot of pain. The doctor I saw was kind, listened to my concerns and validated them which was really important esp when you're a patient unwell and worried. He explained things incredibly well and I felt really listened to esp after a slighty underwhelming 111 call & 4 days of no sleep! Just wanted to highlight how great the A&E dept was and to thank all the staff for a great experience!

  7. Review titled Good experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Shirley - Posted on 20 April 2024

Expected a bad experience due to previous experiences but from start to finish met caring staff and felt cared for and listened to. Did not have to wait long in A & E to be seen, the waiting area was not overcrowded on a Saturday morning and I was surprised how organised it all was. Thank you to all the staff that looked after me that day.

  8. Review titled Amazing department and Care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Patricia Ainsworth - Posted on 15 March 2024

I was in Plain Tree Centre yesterday for a proceedure. Have often visited this department, it amazes me at the constant high standard of care. So many patients passing through, but nurses, without exception, caring and kind. I am of the older generation, and the respect I was given was so good. Not ageist at all as often happens! Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you all.

  9. Review titled Outrageous waiting time and bad communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2024

Called 111 to gain information in regards of swollen and painful leg of my 76 years old mother. Was advice to attend the accident and emergency department. As my mother was having difficulty with walking due to the swelling and pain was advice that the ambulance will come to collect her. The call was made at 6.31pm. Ambulance turn up around 11.30pm. After arriving at the accident and emergency department we talk to the nurse, blood sample was take and we were advice to wait in the waiting room for next procedure without explanation what that would be. After almost 48 hours of waiting we are still here in the waiting room not knowing what would happen next. My mother are still in pain, tired and now anxious. In my opinion this is totally unacceptable and makes me think how did we improved NHS with all this millions raised during Covid time if we still short of staff, beds, equipment and etc. I wouldn't even mention the state of the waiting room and toilets. So disappointed.

  10. Review titled Shambles

Rated 1 star out of 5

The parking is difficult to administer either by the ringo app which not everyone understands or has access too. And the parking machines that did not work and when found needed the full registration. You also have to pay for how long you (think) you’ll be inside the hospital. If you are in a rush is either option great? You could easily do something wrong and get a fine. The receptionist struggled to understand me. And in turn asked the same questions when I’d already given the answers. You are then referred to another receptionist to answer the same thing. And wait for your name to be called. No explanation of what is next and why. I had initial tests by nurse who again could not communicate effectively. The doctor I met was clear with communications and in turn next steps and why these were next steps. This was the only positive interaction of nearly 4 hours in the hospital. I asked after 2 hours when I was (likely) no promise to be called and was told no idea. Not helpful at all. There is always some idea on anything. Even an educated guess. But instead I received nonchalant “no idea”. I had to leave before being called as the already shocking waiting area had people coughing whilst not covering their mouths whilst clearly being unwell and wrenching and I didn’t want to risk my health. Ironically whilst in a hospital. The level of cleanliness was maybe 2/10.
