Two days in urgent care both times Doctors Nurses receptionist and scan unit wonderful, professional and kind. Disgusted that one doctor on duty they need a rest as well . They give of their very best at all times.

It was a Saturday morning. I had a nasty cold which I felt had gone to my chest. As I have a history of chest infections I felt that I needed antibiotics. I tried my doctors surgery but as it was Saturday they were closed. I tried my chemist who advised I contacted 111. I did this and was told that I would have to attend the A&E department at Treliske as the doctor at West Cornwall wasn’t qualified to see me. I had no means of getting to Treliske and was aware that they are always very busy and waiting times are often several hours. I didn’t want to add to this so decided to wait to see my GP on Monday. By the evening I was much worse and struggling to breathe so I went to West Cornwall hospital’s urgent care centre. I had blood tests and a chest Xray and was examined by a doctor. I was borderline being kept in hospital but I opted to have antibiotics and go home. I am so grateful that this very much needed centre was available and dread to think what might have happened without it. It cannot be allowed to close.

As someone with a chronic illness I've spent my fair share of time in hospitals, and most of it is not especially pleasant. Today, the Penlee unit made an uncomfortable procedure very manageable and appeased my anxiety very well! The medical team went above and beyond in terms of care, absolutely lovely folks. Clean and quiet unit in a great hospital. A true credit to their profession. Thank you for your care!

I want to thank the staff at West Cornwall hospital urgent care department. I was visiting the area from Canada and required to see a doctor. Being from out of country I knew it would mean a hospital trip. The Urgent Care dept at this hospital is fantastic. From the Administrator doing intake, who knew which forms I needed to fill in, collected my insurance info, informed how the process worked to the triage nurse who saw me within 20 , Minutes of my arrival to completing my visit with the doctor and receiving antibiotics. The whole process was complete within 3 hours. Thank you all for being so caring. I could see you were all busy but you treated everyone as an individual and you listened. Probably my best hospital experience ever.

I have been lucky enough to have light treatment at West Cornwall’s outpatient dept for 10 weeks. The staff within the dept are lovely, they are so friendly and make you feel valued. I never felt embarressed having the treatment. But i want to also say that all the other staff particularly the reception team made me feel so welcome. They even made a point of remembering. The Senior nurse in charge should be proud of her team, she has made this team one of the best depts i have been in. Thank you so much x

Appointment @ physio was fine. Receptionist very nice & grateful for my patience as she was speaking to a patient on the phone. Also the physio was patient as I updated him.

Have recently been receiving guidance/treatment from the Occupational Therapy/Physio department at Penzance. The staff there are so friendly and supportive; I cannot speak highly enough about the level of care and attention given.

Took my daughter to urgent care after an out of hours drs referred us there for an ear infection. We arrived early (8.15am) and we were booked in promptly and seen quickly and efficiently by the nurse. Fantastic care, quick diagnosis and giving of medication. My daughter even got a teddy bear at the end! A credit to the NHS

I had a routine eye test in 2022 - my eyes were good and then about 1 month later I awoke to see circles in my vision with a red edge. I was frightened as I didn't know what this was. I made a urgent appt with my opticians, who after checking my eyes again said you have age-related muscular degeneration, we will get you an appt with the hospital asap. And sure enough I had an appt very quickly. The consultant looked at my eyes and said I have one dry eye and one wet eye and he could do something for the wet eye. He explained what would happen and I was shocked that I would be having an injection in my eye!!! But I needed not to have worried as I was treated at West Cornwall Hospital, who were all amazing from start to finish. They make everyone relax and if I have to always have these injections, it won't be upsetting to me Thank you so much.
