  1. Review titled Disappointed

Just had my premature baby here on Saturday, noticed when he was just 4 days old that he had been bathed without my permission and without me being there, therefore I missed my first baby’s first bath, I’m absolutely gutted and ashamed, not only that but he is not supposed to have a bath that early as it can dry his skin out, he had 2 baths in 1 week of him being alive. Appalled.

  3. Review titled Could not fault the care my little girl received

We have had a 2 night stay in hospital as my little girl had a viral induced wheeze needing oxygen and nebulisers and the care we receive was amazing by all nurses/ doctors! Nothing was too much trouble, especially when my partner had to go home I was felt at ease. Lovely staff and ward Jess

A house move made registering at a new GP whilst navigating a route for scheduled hip replacement extremely tricky ..so enormous thanks to the member of staff at orthopaedics who made the transition possible in a friendly and competent manner.

  5. Review titled Urgent care

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Drove my son to the hospital after a sports injury arriving at around 8pm. He was in pain and unable to walk. Reception directed us to an urgent care waiting room. There were many people in the room of differing ages. Some were distressed. From that point it was several hours until my son had contact with any staff. No one had even looked at the injury or even entered the room. There is a monitor in the room which instructs the patient which room to go to when it was there turn. literally no staff entered the room. There is a sign on the wall which suggests you to speak to a member of staff if your situation worsens. My son needed painkillers but even after wandering around there was still no one to ask unless I knocked on one of the treatment rooms which I was reluctant to do. I would suggest that with muscular/bone injuries it would be straightforward to at least provide first aid prior to the long wait to actually see someone. At one point various other people started to get quite angry one of whom had a young child with them. She had also not been seen for a couple of hours or initially assessed either. Surely she should have had an initial assessment? It struck me that the room was exceptionally depressing. Whilst later waiting for an X-ray we waited in another room with a TV a water cooler paintings etc.The atmosphere was much more relaxed as a result. At least some music might help. At the very least could a member of staff not be required to physically go to the room and check everyone’s still ok every so often? once we were actually seen the staff were lovely. It seemed the difficult things were done well but the easy things weren’t?

  6. Review titled Never-ending queue...

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been with the pain team for 2 years and have seen and only spoken to a consultant once. Other departments have sent over the findings and gave recommended treatments and I finally have an appointment. This resulted in the consultant having something better to do that day and being offered no further treatment. This is also in conjunction with the pain team taking me off all my medication to manage pain due to the treatment plan that was put in place 2 years ago which I am still yet to see. Do not use this department. They will leave your disabled family members in pain with no sight of any treatment. Im certain in my case and many others, putting further stress on mental health and feeling like the dark pit they find themselves in is never going to be helped. Regards, Long-standing pain management patient

  7. Review titled Bad service

I visited this department on 15.1.24 with my mother who was brought in by paramedics after having a fall down her stairs. I cannot fault the paramedics at all, they were so caring and helpful and made us both feel at ease. However, one member of staff in particular made me feel really uncomfortable with her attitude towards staff/family members. She did not look at me whenever I spoke to her about issues with my mother occuring/asking for updates on results, after speaking with her, there was no rush in resolving my queries or helping my mother panicking. Just her demeanour in general was not very nice to tolerate. Almost like she was looking down her nose at people and not treat as an individual, more of a "part of the job" service.

  8. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the urgent care centre with severe abdominal pain on a Saturday afternoon. The department was very busy but I was informed of the wait time from the outset and throughout my assessment and treatment. The staff in UCC were very professional and I was impressed by how thorough they were. I was transferred to EAU where the staff were wonderful despite being obviously very busy. As I do not live in the area and was just visiting I was pleased that they have passed on my medical information to my GP in my home town to escalate further investigation / treatment. I felt that the whole process was very well organised and efficient. In particular the EAU was very clean and comfortable whilst I waited several hours for my results.

  9. Review titled Good Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted to North Tees Hospital under emergency conditions and taken to the department who deals with strokes. Although my stay was just 24 hours I was very impressed with my treatment by a very professional team who were both caring and supporting both to me and a member of my family. I would like to add my thanks to every member of the team who I met during my stay.
