  1. Review titled cancelled colonoscopy

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by David Mitchell - Posted on 17 June 2024

Attended today, 17/6 having followed diet for three days and having taken Plenvu ready for process. Changed into gown and after a wait was told colo-rectal doctor not turned up so whole thing cancelled. Diabolical. At the least I expect a personal apology from the doctor with an explanation. This can be sent to me by email. The staff at St Lukes cannot be faulted. A complete waste of three days preparation plus additional cost of Uber home. My son-in-law who is a colorectal surgeon cannot understand how this can happen without explanation.

Dear Mr Mitchell Thank you for contacting us about your experience. I can completely understand your frustration and dissapointment - it is far from ideal to be cancelled after taking bowel prep. Unfortunately we cannot see your email address onh this system, therefore if you would like to send your concerns to our complaints department, we will happily investigate and respond to you in writing. The email address for complaints is: PALSComplaints@uhl-tr.nhs.uk In the interim please accept our sincere apologies for this occurrence.

  2. Review titled A painless and very proffessional service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Mckinneley - Posted on 15 January 2024

I attended today for a colonoscopy and would just like to leave my appreciation for the work of the entire staff within the unit. The procedure was painless, carried out in a very proffessional and caring manner. Thank you one and all for making my short stay as stress free as possible.

  3. Review titled Exceptional service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jenny - Posted on 03 November 2023

This hospital has restored my faith in the NHS after months of nothing but problems with my care. When booking my appointment the lady went out of her way to suit my needs. The receptionist was kind and friendly. The nurse explained everything and put me it ease as well as going out of her way to help. The team that carried out my procedure were understanding, helpful and caring. The facilities were well thought out and they listened and answered the questions I had which I have not been able to get elsewhere. I wish I could gave all my appointments and care at this hospital. Thank you.

  4. Review titled Switchboard woes

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 June 2023

Needed to get a contact number for the outpatient’s wound clinic, so I rang the switchboard. Got robot response: ”you are being transferred to the operator” then “that extension is not valid” on a loop. This at 15.30 on a weekday.

  5. Review titled Friendly helpful receptionist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mr Clive Marks - Posted on 07 May 2023

Although it’s called a walk in minor injury service, you have to book an appointment in advance. Despite this I was offered an appointment within 25 minutes. The nurse I saw was polite and professional.

  6. Review titled Great Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

An endoscopy is not something you'd choose to have. But a very clean unit with friendly staff from reception though to the nurses and doctors all of whom ensured you felt cared for and that your dignity was always maintained made the experience a lot better than feared. Thanks to all involved.

  7. Review titled Very poor customer service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Chris Wright - Posted on 06 February 2023

Brought my daughter up to have a deep wound seen to following an incident at home only to be greeted by a rude, obnoxious and unhelpful receptionist. I have a child with blood pouring down her leg and was greeted with zero empathy or assistance. It isn’t clear on the website, on the door or reception why we weren’t able to see someone and ended up having to go to a walk in at Corby over 20 mins away! This ‘hospital’ is only a hospital in name not function and with a workforce that doesn’t give a stuff!!

  8. Review titled Excellent support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Wendy Wright - Posted on 08 March 2023

We called in after finding out my blood pressure was very high. We live on our Narrowboat. After hearing what my BP was the nurse we spoke to was brilliant, took me on as a Temporary patient and seen a doctor within 10 minutes. Gave me a prescription for BP meds. Seen me again the following week for a check up. Excellent surgery. Thank you

  10. Review titled Not urgent care or minor injuries. What are you?

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Elizabeth York - Posted on 02 January 2023

My 82 yr old father cut his hand & it was deeper than a normal plaster could cope with. We went to St Luke’s as I thought it would need to be glued. Was told at St Luke’s they couldn’t do anything with it but no one else waiting & there were enough staff. Told to go on to urgent care at Corby where they duly glued the hand. Corby staff couldn’t understand why dad had been sent to them as there was nothing complicated about the wound. What is going on at St Luke’s? Very strange.
