The midwives tried to diagnose my son with jaundice the day after he was born, when he showed no signs whatsoever, as confirmed at the doctor’s appointment we were sent to in Cambridge. The doctor was miffed they wasted his time.

It is impossible to get hold of the community midwife team. There is only one telephone number which no one appears to answer. I appreciate that at times days can be busy, but I feel that it is unsafe that no one is around to answer calls and queries for this caseload of patients. Leaving mothers to be and those with newborns without support. There is no facility to leave a message or be contacted for a call back.

Dear patient I'm sorry that you have had difficulty obtaining the help you need. If you are under a Rosie Hospital (Cambridge) community midwife team then you should have been provided with a contact number for a midwifery team which is for non-urgent queries only and a call back is given within 24 hours. If there is an urgent query then we provide the maternity assessment line which is staffed every day. Please do contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01223 216756 or email pals@addenbrookes.nhs.uk so that we can help you further. Once again, I am sorry that you have experienced difficulties obtaining assistance. Head of Patient Experience Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
