  1. Review titled Awesome

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    1. In Surgical Assessment They worked very hard and very efficiently. Especially the man who seemed to be in charge. 2. They sent me to ward 308. Staff wonderful. It was an eye-opene to see the man who swept the floors - thoroughness amazing - perhaps an indicator of your whole approach. Had UTI. took >7 different bottles of antiobiotics cure it. reminds me of when in the Godfather, they try to assasinate Godfather "They put 5 shots into him and he's still alive!

  2. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After being admitted as an emergency I can only say what an excellent team of medics and all personel including iss from the top down. Its good to know when the chips are down this team pullout all the stops. Only spoilt by the waiting time from the pharmacy and very little involvement with the consultant discussing my post operative condition. That said, a memorable experience.

  3. Review titled Kind, friendly paediatric staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

We ended up on the Paediatrics Dolphin ward when my son was admitted for emergency surgery after a visit to the emergency department. The Urology staff, theatre staff and ward staff who looked after him were kind and compassionate. We stayed overnight on the Dolphin ward and they made our stay as pleasant as it could be under the circumstances. A special mention to the health care assistants, nurses and play therapists. Thank you!

  4. Review titled Fantastic care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was taken to the a&e royal derby hospital majors a department by a very lovely, friendly, competent female ambulance crew. Not being familiar with the derbyshire area. I was very reassured by the kindness, care and treatment I received. From the ambulance crew, nursing staff, doctors and consultants at this hospital. After working as a registered nurse in a variety of setting and posts for the NHS for 40 years I was very impressed with how well the staff worked together to obtain a good outcome for their patients. especially in a challenging environment like a&e. it was apparent that the staff I met were happy working at the hospital. They showed compassion and an interest in their patients and fellow colleagues. From moving to c area and mau this was evident in all these areas. there appeared to be strong leadership within these departments. with staff all delivering the same good care and values.

  6. Review titled Good Hospital

My Stay in Derby Hospital was excellent as regards to m y Consultant Doctors, Nurses. My discharge was a utter shambles 10hours waiting time even thou the consultant asked to get me discharged by lunchtime that day 2/5/24 as we had a 2hr journey home on a holiday week end not sure what the problem was but we left the hospital 8.15 Friday evening arrived home at 10.45. My other comment is that you have no available help to get people from car parks to the wards my husband have Parkinson's, plus COPD and was suffering from Sciatica at the time and had great problems getting from the disabled car park 6 to the ward each day he visited me.

  7. Review titled Fantastic Staff

Was unfortunate (from a health perspective) to have to visit the A&E . Staff were great and very hard working but few in number. They coped admirably but shouldn't have to.

  8. Review titled Nice people

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was accompanying my wife - we had been sent from a clinic at the Nightingale to the Single Day Treatment place. We were amazed by how nice all the staff and professionals were throughout the day. Admittedly a long day - but several stages of preparation were done throughout our time in there. Eventually admitted to a ward. The pleasant experience continued. The interpersonal skills of all involved was noticeable. All staff seemed cheerful, approachable and helpful. I just hope they don't get soured by the inevitable grumpy and negative people.

  9. Review titled Appendectomy - Great care!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Went to A&E on Good Friday with abdominal pain. Whilst the wait for A&E was 10 hours the staff were brilliant from being seen to then being admitted. This was my first visit to a hospital for treatment. Thank you to all the staff on ward 309, surgical team, porters and anyone else I might have forgotten! Everyone was very caring and kept me at ease until surgery. Everything went well which meant I could leave and be back at home 24 hours after surgery.

  10. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carly - Posted on 22 March 2024

Our baby recently spent some time on the nicu before being transfered to another hospital closer to home. The care baby and ourselves received was absolutely fantastic. Having a baby on the nicu is emotionally, mentally and physically draining and if it wasn’t for the staff on this department being so kind and caring towards us I don’t know how we would of got through it. Baby has now had stays in 3 different hospitals and derby royal nicu by far has been the best. Thank you to everyone who treated my baby as if it was their own. From the bottom of my heart I am truly grateful. Baby E mum xx
