  1. Review titled Long waiting hours

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by D Shetty - Posted on 30 April 2024

I was advised by NHS 111 to take my daughter to Queen Mary’s Urgent care centre as she had vomited several times and had developed red rashes on her face cheeks. Didn’t expect that we would have to wait for more than 3 hours which was painful as my daughter kept vomiting even while she was at the hospital. Surprised to see that there was only one doctor to attend to people. NHS need to do something to improve and help with reducing the long wait at the hospital as it defeats the purpose of calling it an urgent care centre.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, we welcome all feedback and use it to improve our service. I am sorry that your visit to the Urgent Treatment Centre was not a positive one. As an Urgent Treatment Centre, we are an unscheduled service meaning we operate on a sit and wait basis. Due to this we have no control over the amount of patients attending at any one time. Whilst we endeavour to keep waiting times to a minimum, in extremely busy periods they can be higher than we would like. Best Wishes Sue Hopkins Senior Operations Manager Bexley Unscheduled Care

  2. Review titled Fantastic treatment and staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had Strabismus surgery yesterday in the Newlands Centre for day surgery. From the minute I was admitted, the staff were professional, kind and reassuring. Very smooth procedure, great aftercare and the Nurse in Charge was amazing in the way she interacted with her team and the patients. I love our NHS! 💙

  3. Review titled Excellent experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by LeonF - Posted on 07 May 2024

I was miffed when my surgery was changed from Lewisham, very near, to Sidcup, but my experience could not have been bettered. I was scheduled to have my gall bladder removed. Arriving half an hour before Planned Care officially opened, I was still welcomed and made to feel at home. The unit is spotlessly clean, the staff bright and cheery at 0630 am on what they said was to be a very busy day. From the check in by a nurse, to the meeting with the registrar, anaesthetist and then the consultant all my many questions were answered, I was prepped, and taken to theatre. The recovery ward in my own room was equally pleasant, and soon I was on my way home, well briefed. Patient communication which I have sometimes found to be confusing was five star in this instance. In the past I've had orthopaedic surgery privately, and this was on a par, if not better, especially regards the nursing staff. I'd certainly request Sidcup should I need to in the future. Many thanks all.

  4. Review titled Lack of Patient care

Rated 1 star out of 5

This urgent care centre did not send my treatment notes to my GP following my visit, this crucial aspect of patient care has meant that my GP has been unable to provide appropriate follow-up care.

  5. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

I visited urgent care on the 17/4 with an ankle injury, the doctor said she couldn’t tell from the X-ray if my ankle was broken, she said she would treat it as a break & get a second opinion the next day & someone would call me, if I didn’t receive a call to assume it’s not broken. I didn’t get a call, 3 weeks later I’m still unable to use my foot still swollen, they never told me whether there was tissue damage / ligament/ tendon. I never got any diagnosis and no documentation went to my GP. Raised a complaint via pals but they’re slow to investigate and respond. So negligent.

  6. Review titled Rude doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

Yesterday (16.3.24) I visited due an outer ear infection (I was told to go here by 111) when I was seen by the doctor (unfortunately he didn’t tell he his name) he was very rude and dismissive when I was talking, I was trying to explain my issue and he would cut me off so I never finished my sentence. When he was looking in my “healthy” ear he knocked the top of my ear canal which after caused some pain at the time I didn’t think much of it but this morning (17.3.24) I have woken up with a painful blocked ear. I understand the doctors are busy etc but there is no need to be rude. I already felt silly going to urgent care for an ear infection I didn’t need the doctor to make me feel worse

  7. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Rachel - Posted on 10 March 2024

The positives: short wait time at 6.30am on a Sunday, reception staff was friendly and helpful. The negatives: Both doctor and nurse appeared totally disinterested in me and my symptoms. Didn’t appear to show any care or sympathy. I got a prescription and when I asked what it was I had a hand waved at me and told, ‘Ask the pharmacist’. The list of pharmacies on the wall needs updating as the one I found and drove to had been closed for months!

  8. Review titled Bad service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by robert keith ives - Posted on 03 March 2024

I was referred to Rhuematology by my gp for chronic pain. when I attended my first appointment on 14th December 2023, it had been cancelled, but I had not been told. With help from the receptionist, they squeezed me in. I saw the consultant. I was referred for X-rays. these were carried out also at qmh. Since then I have been attempting to find out when I may get my treatment, as I am in chronic pain and bedridden. trying to get information is like trying to get blood out of a stone. I have been referred to another hospital, only to discover that the service I required moved 4 years earlier. I managed to get a phone number for them, as well as an email address. no answer from either of them. is this called service? Because I do not think so.

  9. Review titled Poor patient care

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I visited the breast screening clinic today and was treated ina very brusque and unfriendly manner by one of the staff.A mammogram is not a pleasant experience and this was not helped by this ladies uncaring attitude...made me feel very horrible and uncomfortable . This is not the care I expect from the NHS... especially as I was a nurse myself ..and tried to maintain a kind attitude when caring for patients
