  1. Review titled Fantastic care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lyndsey - Posted on 22 May 2024

I recently visited with my young child who has special needs. I was very worried how she would cope with the xrays and being examined, but I need not have all the staff were so incredible and I feel like the staff really done amazing at not only helping my daughters broken wrist, but making the experience as speedy and pleasant as possible. We were in and out within 2.5 hours which I think is amazing. I cant name names here but the childrens a&e, minor injuries and fractures were just wonderful. I cannot speak highly enough of their care and professionalism with my daughter and am extremely grateful. As a side note would be amazing for some more disabled parking spaces, parking was much more traumatic than the hospital visit. Thanks again wonderful staff members.

  2. Review titled So kind so competent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I wanted to say thank you to the team I was treated by at the colposcopy clinic today. They made a horrid procedure bearable. They were all so kind and so reassuring. They are also clearly efficient as I went in before my appointment time! Thank you so much.

  3. Review titled Prompt understanding and empathy

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Dee Gallo - Posted on 30 April 2024

I turned up with excruciating pain with what turned out to be blood clots on lung. My pulse was 140. The male nurse at the desk was very empathic and got pain relief down me as quickly as possible which helped settle me down in the waiting room. He apologised there was no space to lie down but I know him and the triage nurse would have got me somewhere immediately if they could. He checked on me once I got into majors. The doctor was so caring aswell, every time pain relief wore off I ended up screaming in agony and she advised staff on keeping me topped up. Initially presentation wasn’t typical but they got me a CT scan and found the clots, thank God. Then I went to the wards. Kingsmoor ward listened to me about pain relief and managed to keep on top of things, got me on blood thinners quickly and answered my many questions about what was going on. Really traumatic experience made easier by human empathy shown

  4. Review titled Reception answering

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Appallingly poor . Waited ages to someone to answer then just transferred another phone to be 12 in queue . No explanation Rude when the call was regarding an appointment that the hospital cancelled after waiting 6 months .

  5. Review titled Great doctors and clean environment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 January 2024

My husband went to A&E for an acid reflux problem. We were registered and went to the waiting room, lots of people present. The process of seeing people was very well organised. The nurse checked his blood pressure and did a ECG. Then he had a blood test and was sent to the further investigation dept. He had his own bed and we waited for the doctor to arrive. Whilst in the waiting room and in the further investigation area I was impressed with the cleanliness of the floor and surrounding area. We were offered tea/coffee and a sandwich. I was impressed by one doctor who went to get us some water, even though we could have done this ourselves. When the doctor came to assess my husband, she asked lots of questions until she had a picture of the problem. She went away and prescribed the medication. The doctors was very personable and spoke in a clear manner. We did wait a long time but the time went by very quickly, there was always blood pressure to check and reading time. Thank you to all the nurses, admin staff and doctors for your professionalism, keep up this work. It will be appreciated by people who visit the hospital.

  6. Review titled The staff do their best but need more training

by Mother of Ware - Posted on 08 January 2024

My daughter has a learning disability and has been attending this clinic for a number of years. During the last year she has had 4 Outpatients appointments cancelled at short notice, but early January 2024 we were seen by a doctor and they were very helpful and kind to my daughter, unfortunately by this time my daughter had forgotten how to respond to the various scanning machines. She needs to get used to situations and when she knows what is required of her she will do her best to respond, but this takes time and patience as well as simple instructions and lots of praise. During the long delay in being seen her sight has got a lot worse and we will have to start building her confidence up again in order to get the scans needed to decide what future treatment she may need. I do not think it is to her benefit to give her an appointment at Keats House for the scans, as the staff do not appear to understand that she needs special attention and time to understand what they want her to do. We have visited Keats House 3 times in the last year and not achieved a single helpful scan. The staff do their best but need more training in how to get the best out of the people they are trying to scan. Yours Faithfully

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had 2 teeth taken out under general anesthetic as a day patient ,the staff & doctors ,anesthetist explained to me what will happen & made sure I knew what was going on & made me feel at ease , the hospital was clean & tidy , only down side is that the wards are hard to find & not marked very clearly on map , took me 20 mins to find the ward after asking staff , but a very good hospital in my view

  9. Review titled 18 hour waiting times

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 December 2023

Terrible experience, Pregnant Mrs and I waited 18 hours wait for a bed in a critical situation.. didn’t know what was going on or what we were waiting for half the time… seats were uncomfortable if you got one , spent hours sitting on the floor, had to keep goi gout to get food and drinks as the hospital shop shuts in the evening and the vending machines a broken! Plus we never knew how long we were gunna be there for.. no one could give us a answer so I didn’t know if I could go out and get food or dinner or whatever.. alsohad to keep explaining the same things over and over and over to every doctor as it was like the never wrote notes or updated the system… It’s was cold too. Rather than telling us there’s no bed.. (as we realised there were loads of empty beds) I think they just didn’t have enough staff, no one seemed in control or seemed to have any routine it was just a confusing stressful situation and we didn’t know if we were coming or going, I’m Mrs ended up with more problems with her back and hips with all the waiting around than she did when she went in there. Pure nightmare, the amount of people discharging themselves too was unreal

  10. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 February 2024

Had to attend A&E on Christmas Day 2023 at 16:00 for a large second degree burn. I was in and out of A&E in 45 minutes which included a 20-25 minute treatment. I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the nurse who treated me but she was compassionate, effective and just generally a lovely person and a great source of comfort whilst having the treatment. She made an unpleasant treatment manageable and I am very grateful that she turned what could have been quite a scary experience into a calm one. I have been sure to tell people about the great treatment I received and how quickly I was seen by the team. Thank you.
