  1. Review titled Great surguary

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had a hernia repair and found everybody involved from Consultant, Register, Theater team and after care were fantastic. The repair had to be done and it turned out to be a great experience, very little pain or discomfort. Thank you very much to all that were involved on the 22nd. May.

  2. Review titled Caring, Considerate and professional Staff xx

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the Leicester General Hospital with my daughter as she had an ultrasound scan. My daughter is 15, her scan was done in the Radiology Department and we were looked after by 2 truly lovely ladies - The sonographer/radiographer and the lady who assisted. Both ladies made us feel completely at ease, explained everything really clearly, kept checking my daughter was OK during the process and were kind, caring, reassuring, professional, calm, positive and polite throughout the whole process. These ladies are a real credit to the NHS and deserve a huge pat on the back, cup of tea and a cake! The lady on the Radiography Reception was also very nice and I was extremely impressed with how quickly our appointment came through after my daughter had been referred for her scan by our GP. The information we received with the letter we were sent was perfect too - very clear and informative - and I had to change our appointment date which again was done quickly, promptly and easily and the person I spoke to on the phone (it was a man, but I don't remember his name unfortunately) was really helpful and polite too. So all in all, I am thrilled with the service we received as a whole and would like to pass on my heartfelt thanks as it really does make a massive difference to people like us when things run smoothly, are easy to change and understand and when care, consideration and kindness are shown to us by staff at all levels.

  3. Review titled Speedy and supportive service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rachael - Posted on 03 May 2024

Had an MRI at Leicester General after suffering claustrophobia and panic attacks in a smaller, older model elsewhere in the county. Arrived feeling apprehensive after my pervious experience. Thankfully the team, from reception to the MRI techs, were amazing and so supportive. They were patient and talked me through every step of the scan. Once I was comfortable I actually found myself dozing off! Quick, efficient, and brilliant! That larger scanner makes all the difference and the room is large and well lit with a calming ambience. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!

  4. Review titled Such patience and kindness

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On arriving at the General for a CT scan I was extremely nervous due to being very claustrophobic. The nurse was amazing and without her patience and going through everything with me I would of ran out the door. Thank you

  5. Review titled A little more time

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 April 2024

It's all the title. Went for a gynaecologist appointment and procedure today . Due to somewhat bleeding abit after Menopause. So naturally they want to offer an investigation. It's a good thing. I get it. However, it's somewhat confusing and stressful by not only procedures before this no results given . Then you get a follow-up procedure because they feel its s good idea, then a standard letter containing every possible worry or possible concern s that could be the reason or reasons. No personalised letter is sent. Which can leave you even more lost to the point of confusion and lost and in panic. Go for the appointment mainly due this. And the whole procedure is somewhat rushed, they say you can ask questions However you feel get on with it . They just want you out. There was no real time for questions and no real interest was shown. It was like you either want the procedure or you don't. Yes they did there best and yes they mean we'll. However I feel that a little more time and compassion is required . And far less conveyor belt situation going on. Please know that we a patients and individuals. trea us with more understanding and less harshness. It is needed. It is a every day procedure to you the Doctor. For us we all count. I just hope changes are made Thank you

  6. Review titled Superb treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From arriving on Ward 18 to discharge the ward nurses and all other staff were absolutely amazing, completely putting me at ease whilst preparing for my operation. Dr G and all the theatre team treated me with great respect and I received the very best of care throughout my operation. Special thanks to the male theatre nurse for chatting to me whilst the operation took place and I hope all goes well with the future addition to his family 😊 I received excellent aftercare and before leaving I was given full information of my follow up appointments. Well done to the staff on ward 18 and many thanks to everyone

  7. Review titled Inadequate

Rated 1 star out of 5

From date of referral it took this dept 14 months (9 months to provide positive blood test results) to realise and diagnose an illness that actually needs to be seen by Rheumatology department instead. The delays in this dept have caused prolonged suffering, and an unecessary worsening of the dibilitating condition. If standard tests had been scheduled before the first consultation this diagnosis could have been made within 6 months. The waiting has been an absolute farce, exascerbated by disorganisation and poor communication between stages of administration and quite possibly lack of thoroughness from someone leading this team. The most shocking part is that every member of this team knew of it's own incompetance.

  9. Review titled Miracle workers

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I spent 5 weeks in Neuro rehabilitation unit and received the most incredible care, love and compassion from all of the staff. I cannot praise the staff enough. I was unable to even get out of bed when I went into ward 2, I was very wary at first because I had already spent 31 days in in in burton on Trent hospital plus another 30 days on a ward. Leicester Neuro rehabilitation unit was the only hospital that would take me because of my postcode! From the minute I was admitted I felt reassured that I would be ok. Nothing was to much trouble. My family were involved all of the way. With the help of all the team I began to regain my ability and was able to walk with a stroller, shower, dress feed myself it was like the Phoenix rising from the ashes. I finally left after 5 weeks walking out with a stroller. I wanted to go home but was sad to be leaving my hospital family. Thank you everyone on ward 2 you are all incredible.
