  1. Review titled Post bariatric surgery care.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 February 2024

Had bariatric surgery and difficult recovery after, Priestley ward nurses and care staff not so helpful and kind. Very noisy place for recovery ,staff very loud, visitors enormous amount for one bed and loud, nurses doesn't care about it.. Warning signs says 2 visitors per bed and no phones, there was 6 and all talking at the same time staying for half of the day. Staff has time about planning their annual leave time on computer and holidays time. But when calling them, takes time to attend patient, get up from the chair and end their conversation. No kindness towards patients. Doctors, physicians, bariatric nurses very helpful and kin, but the rest Priestley ward staff need more kindness towards patients. 4 out of 10

  2. Review titled Wonderful care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by James Buckham - Posted on 30 January 2024

I feel very grateful for the wonderful care and exemplary professionalism that my partner received at Homerton Hospital, both through a lengthy process of tests and finally surgery to resolve her issue. Feeling that she was in the very best hands for her needs was immensely comforting to us both, particularly impressive given that her surgery had to take place suddenly, during the junior doctor's strike. Seeing the very small wounds, and her rapid recovery from quite invasive surgery I feel totally in awe of the skill of her surgeon, and very encouraged about the state of the NHS. Thank you to the whole team at the hospital.

  3. Review titled Amazing experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rodiat Akandji - Posted on 23 January 2024

I had a tooth extraction today and i was so happy with my experience. I was extremely nervous as things like surgery and needles give me a lot of anxiety and can be very mentally tolling for me, but i felt so comforted by the nurses and the surgical team today to the point where i wasn’t nervous at all! I would recommend these nurses and surgical/dentistry team to anyone - the communication and comfort was unlike any experience i’ve ever had and i was so happy to be getting treatment from such a nice, kind team of people. Thank you so much.

  4. Review titled Fantastic Hospital Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I normally find going to hospital quite a scary and overwhelming experience but arriving today and being welcomed by a "Homerton Helper" set my mind at complete ease and made it an entirely different experience for me by welcoming me with the biggest smile, taking my details and letting me know exactly when and where I'd be seen and just checking in that I was ok after my blood test! I am in awe at the concept and I think it's a fantastic idea. Kudos to both Homerton Hospital for doing this as well as anyone who volunteers to be a Homerton Helper. A fantastic initiative!

  6. Review titled Caring Staff- Amazing Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was really anxious about my Endoscopy procedure at the day stay unit, and although the procedure was uncomfortable, I am so grateful for every single member of staff that saw to me, from the nurse who took me into my bed and handed me the clothes to change into, to the nurse who administered the medication , to the nurses who took me into the procedure room to the doctor who did the procedure. to the nurse who sat me down and handed me over my report. Thank you all, I am so grateful. This has to be my best experience /atmosphere I have had in a hospital. Words cannot express. I really want the team to know how grateful i am. Thank you so much .

  7. Review titled 9 months wait, and appointments are still getting cancelled

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 December 2023

I have been waiting for a hysterescopy appointment since last summer. GP first gave me a gynecology appointment, which I waited for until March 2023. Doctors then confirmed I needed a hysterescopy. Then the second wait began. Homerton Hospital Women's Health Centre, began arranging appointments, then cancelling them for 9 months. Since October I received 5 letters, cancelling and arranging a new appointment for me. Once the letters stopped coming, I figured the appointment must be now confirmed. Me and my partner took time off from work to come to the appointment, only to find out by the receptionist that my appointment was cancelled. This time they didn't bother to let me know. What are we paying these high taxes for, if we're not to receive any public services? Shame on you.

  8. Review titled I'm just in shock

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anna Petrova - Posted on 29 December 2023

In early November, I became very ill due to a stone in my kidney and an inflammatory process that caused me to lose consciousness. On 7 November, I was fitted with a special tube through which the stone was supposed to come out and I was released home. To put it mildly, the sensations of wearing the tube are just terrible. It is difficult to pee and walk. On 28 November, I had an appointment to see if the stone had come out. And indeed, the stone came out. Now I had to remove the tube. They said they would remove it within four weeks. I received a letter saying that they would remove it on 12 February 2024. But the most interesting thing is that in a few days I received a new letter for an appointment on 3 June. Are you in your right mind to walk around for 5 months and cry in pain because of this tube? I will file an application with the relevant authorities if I do not have it removed soon.

  9. Review titled Lovely nurses

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Gemma - Posted on 29 November 2023

The nurse who looked after me after my surgery was kind, attentive and patient. She listened to me and attended to my needs quickly and effectively. Thank you. The nurse before my surgery was also kind, gracious and attentive. Thank you. The surgeon didn’t say a word to me and I witnessed him being very rude to one of the nurses. Overall my experience was very positive due to the level of care provided by the nurses.

  10. Review titled Rheumatology: Great service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paula Hughes - Posted on 24 November 2023

I arrived before reception opened & was able to check-in via the self service computers, it was a very simple service & if you have your appointment letter, you can use the bar code on that to speed it up. The staff were fantastic & I was called on time. The consultant took plenty of time to listen to me & clearly explain everything about my treatment. I needed an x-ray before I could leave & again, I received fantastic service. I have anxiety & was struggling with my time there but all the staff treated me calmly, politely & with great care. Thank you all.
