On the afternoon of Friday 22 March 2024 I attended Barnsley Hospital A@E department following an injury to my ankle. From my initial booking with the receptionist then onto Triage Nurse, Assessment Doctor and all the staff in the X Ray department I can say that I was dealt with most professionally along with care and sympathy for which I cannot thank them all enough. The total time I was in A&E was no more that 2 hours from start to finish. I have since recovered from my injury which was due to the advice given to me by the Doctor who was excellent during my time with her. This is my second visit to this department within the last 2 years and I cannot praise the staff enough.

Spent a week on ward 36 every single member of staff I came into contact with was professional and caring Thankyou so much.

Had an awful experience when I went to see an eye specialist. She was rude and abrupt and placed all my symptoms down to a migraine when I haven't had a migraine for a month. Was dismissed even after explaining everything that has been going on and my eyes, vision and extreme light sensitivity is getting worse. Was told that these symptoms had nothing to do with eye sight which is completely false. I left in tears and suffered a panic attack after leaving the room. I had to go to my opticians to getba second opinion and she was shocked and appalled and gave me an appointment for the next day. I am disgusted in the way I was treated I honestly believe I got a bad one that day and if I have to go back I will be refusing the see the same person.

From my first appointment the staff the consultant were amazing. They were quick caring kind and very informative. I felt safe in their hands. I will be forever grateful for the kindness and professional ism they have shown me.

I recently had a breast mri scan my first one after having surgery and treatment for breast cancer in 2022. The staff in the mri department were absolutely lovely and kind. All way through having the scan they made me feel at ease. Thank you.

Out of nowhere I started experiencing severe pain in my lower back and groin. Unable to get an ambulance my son and his auntie rushed me to Barnsley accident and emergency. I was immediately put in a wheelchair and rushed to a cubicle. After morphine and a CT scan I was diagnosed as having passed a kidney stone, with two remaining. I was still unwell. Hours later I was transferred to the critical decision unit with the view I would be transferred to the Pinderfields Urology unit. I spent the night in critical decisions until, the nicest ward I’ve ever been in with the kindest of staff. I’m so grateful for the care I received and would like to thank everyone who cared for me that day.

I just wanted to say thank you for my care yesterday in a&e and gynaecology, I was seen quickly and updated the whole time on what was going on, all the staff I encountered were just lovely! So caring it’s the best a&e I’ve been to you should be very proud of the amazing staff you have! So professional and caring under busy and I imagine stressful circumstances, the nurses and doctor in gynaecology were also so lovely and really looked after me! So thank you to all, you are all doing a great job!!

I was seen to within minutes by the triage nurse. Then ten minutes later by another nurse then given antibiotics for my eye.

Following a nasty head injury on new years day, staff were fantastic with their care attention. Out of the department in just 2 hours, with a treated wound and do grateful for the professionalism and kindness of the staff.
