   I went in to make an appointment after giving up trying on the phone for around 45 minutes. The receptionist called me over all smiles and said unfortunately there were no appointments left for today (she must have take. 1 second to check) and I would need to call tomorrow. I said I would come into the surgery first thing as I had previously done so. I struggled to get through on the phone and work doesn’t permit me to be on hold for long periods of time. She sarcastically laughed in my face and looked around the surgery and said ‘patients clearly get through on the phone as we have lots in today’. And I shouldn’t pop in as they are unable to offer appointments that way any more, I stated that I did this just a couple of weeks ago and she snapped that her colleague shouldn’t have allowed it. She then turned away with a smirk on her face. Absolutely vile receptionist and I am shocked that there is such little empathy, compassion and common courtesy from a doctors surgery, especially after what the world has been through in the last 2 years with a global pandemic! I feel bad for patients that are maybe suffering mentally and they come across this smirking, mean female receptionist. She would probably bring them to tears! However I do have to say that on the occasion I do manage to get an appointment the doctors and nurses are so helpful and kind. Unfortunately I will be moving surgeries now, it’s happened a few times with reception and it’s enough to put most people off.
