    I suffer terribly from knee osteoarthritis and take pain medication including oral morphine and tablets. Every time i request a repeat prescription i get the same old routine!! "Call the surgery to make a pain medication review appointment" "Phone back at 08.00 am so you can book an appointment that day" "Fill in an online E-Consult please and we will respond accordingly" I can't ring the surgery at 08.00 am as i'm in work. My latest prescription is likely to run out before i get a new appointment. They wont put it in the chemist until have the review so i'll be left with medication for a short while. I appreciate your reception staff have a difficult job to do but i sometimes find the tone quite condascending.

    Dear Patient, As with all medication, to be clinically safe, the clinicians will need to carry out a medication review annually (if not more often). Patients are given at least 2 months' notice of this requirement and I have to say, in my 7 years here, you are the first person who has not been able to arrange a review within that time frame. I'm pleased all is in place now. Kindest regards Practice Manager
