  1. Review titled Horrible service. Prescription is all i need

Rated 1 star out of 5

by John - Posted on 04 January 2023

I was sent to a&e last christmas because I had been calling them days/weeks prior to the holidays for my hypertension medication but they were unreachable. You call at eight am on the dot. But unreachable. You called throughout eight o'clock. Still couldn't get a hold of them. Able to speak to them when I tried at nine am after being twelve in the queue... then they will just tell me, you need to call at eight am for the appointment. and that's the vicious cycle. Luckily i had a few-day prescription from a&e. But now I ran out again so I have to call them again. I received a text to log my bp. I did that. But still no call for an update. The last two days may look low because I'm already taking the meds from a&e. I don't have meds anymore. I even paid for my prescription. Now I tried again and it is the same. I just need a consultation to have a prescription, exemption, and referral. Please give me a referral so I can do private consultation because no one can stand this worst service.

  2. Review titled They have had nothing but time patience and kindness

by Plantlife - Posted on 06 January 2023

I've had to use this GP Practice several times over the past 2 weeks for my children and they have been fantastic. Yes the phone wait is long but they are clearly over stretched and working hard. When I have spoken to or seen anyone they have had nothing but time patience and kindness. With the current stress of today with maybe not getting an appointment or getting the right medication due to shortages, they have provided and delivered every time. Thankyou and keep up the good work!

  3. Review titled Worst GP Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Have asked for repeat prescription, should have been ready to pickup from Morrison pharmacy on 9/12, arrived at pharmacy and no medicine available as GP Surgery has failed to send, the pharmacist said call your Surgery, to which I did. Spoke to someone at approximately 5,50pm and was told Surgery will send prescription now and should be ready to pickup tomorrow 10/12/22, again go to Morrison pharmacy to be told that prescription has not been forwarded by Surgery. I am a diabetic patient and was given loan medication to get by. Monday 12/12, go to Surgery after work to ask what is the issue, to which the reply was it has been sent to Morrison pharmacy earlier that day. 2 wasted trips to pharmacy, 3rd time lucky, this happened previously, which I stated. I was been told about shortage of staff, too many patients, really not what I want to hear. Rated 0 out of 5

  4. Review titled Infuriating

Rated 1 star out of 5

Called regarding an appointment to listen to my sons chest as advised by GP as no one called me on the day that the gp said that, appointment given at 1 and I explained my son is at school is there a later appointment, the lady on the phone then had the audacity to ask if he needs an appointment when he’s gone to school, I explained I think it’s more asthma related which I did say to the GP who was lovely! The receptionist how ever was rude and patronising and not helpful. I’m not stupid and would not call you for the sake of it, I’m a district nurse myself and I think that her attitude was appalling.

  5. Review titled Shambles

Rated 1 star out of 5

I'm currently signed off with Anxiety Disorder and have to get a new "fitnote" every 2 weeks, which in itself causes more anxiety. I called on the 15th as my previous one expired and previously I rang up for a new one and they would text it to me on pdf. I was told I now had to come in to fill in a form. I was given a small photocopied piece of paper with some of the text missing which I filled in and was told it would be ready "in a couple of days". I called again this morning (the 18th)as I still hadn't had it and was told I should have it by 3pm today. At 4pm i didnt have it still so i called them and as I got to number 1 in the queue I was disconnected. I called back immediately and was number 1 in the queue and was on hold for over 10 minutes. I decided to drive up despite bad traffic and when I got there people are queuing out the door. When I finally see a receptionist she tells me it isnt ready still, but goes away and comes back with one from last month which was no good to me at all. Told I may not get it today now and they are closed all weekend. So my anxiety is now at a high level again despite all the work I've put in with cbt because of the incompetence and misinformation from this place. My workplace want my fitnote asap and I cant provide it, yet I'm in no fit state to return to work. They have no sympathy or empathy and just want rid of you. Very very poor experiences here.

  6. Review titled Absolutely Awful!

Rated 1 star out of 5

This surgery is not fit for purpose. It is so disorganised it beggars belief. The receptionists have no empathy whatsoever. You continually get conflicting information depending on who you might talk to, there is never any consistency in what you are told and no one ever apologises or takes any ownership to resolve anything when this happens. The surgery as a whole is seriously failing in the level of care it is currently providing to their patients, especially those with anxiety and mental health problems.

  7. Review titled Very long telephone wait

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 October 2022

The wait to get through on the phone is horrendous, over 40 mins from 8th in the queue. Also no communication regarding results, left chasing up later in the afternoon despite calling the surgery at 8am and hearing nothing back. Communication with the surgery itself is just awful. Once/twice a week a drop in clinic should be run to allow people to turn up and take a ticket and be prepared to wait their turn. The whole call & request a call back and then wait by your phone for an entire day is not practical at all. Nor able to book routine appointments in advance, only able to call on the day at 8am which isn’t practical for people completing the school run or going to work as on hold for such a long time.

  8. Review titled Poor Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Cannot get a face to face appointment to diagnose 5-year-old child, will only do appointments over the phone, how can you diagnose something you can't see? Ridiculous, also whole waiting in the very large queue that lined up in the waiting room, out the door and into the Car park, you can hear everything, people's problems, their name, date of birth, address, phone number, medication they are on, etc, scammers don't need to cold call you, just stand outside a doctor's surgery and take down all your details. This surgery is possibly one of the worst in the county, possibly even the country.

  9. Review titled Trying to speak to a doctor

    by Nisse20 - Posted on 26 September 2022

The Mandeville Practice is under-staffed, not enough reception staff to cope with the amount of patients they have. I also rang them to get advice from a doctor after having an operation before returning to work. I got to number 4 in the queue, then I got cut off. I re-rang again, eventually got through to be told all appointments that day had gone, try again Monday. No sympathy at all after wasting my time, over 2hrs in their phone queue. I re-rang on the Monday, again got to number 4 in the queue and got cut off, wasting another 45 minutes. They obviously have big problems with their phone line. I went to the surgery to ask for a telephone appointment that day, again 1 person on reception, I couldn't hear what they were saying and they were in no rush to help. They said someone would call me later today. I waited all day and NO call. Not happy at all with the service, it's just getting worse.

  10. Review titled Can't fault the surgery at all

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 25 August 2022

I very rarely go to the doctors unless I absolutely need to (normally head to the pharmacy first) however I recently needed to go and although it took a while to get through on the phone (which is the same at most other GP practices) I was given a phone call and spoke to a GP the same day and prescription was sorted and sent to my requested pharmacy. Really couldn't fault the service at all.
