  1. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jill Chick - Posted on 24 March 2023

I have been with the practice for many years now and have always found it very accessible. I have not had to wait weeks for treatment whether by phone or in person. The follow up on new medication or tests has always been thorough. The staff have always been helpful. I’m happy.

  2. Review titled No appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2023

I have just got off the phone and am so disappointed , I asked for a simple appointment to see my Doctor about some severe allergic reactions I have been having , and was told its a routine matter which negates me from seeing a GP ! I complained and then was offered a telephone appointment for the 28th of February ??? .

Dear Anonymous, We have been experiencing an unprecedented number of patient contacts at the surgery, the demand being so great we have had to reduce the number of "routine" appointments to enable us to cope with the urgent demands on a daily basis and enable to us to work safely. We are working very hard to try and get additional locum cover to help us during this difficult time. We are monitoring this on a daily basis and yes this is completely out of the norm for St Georges where we have always been able to offer routine appointments a few weeks in advance. There are a number of genuine reasons why this is happening, Strep A out break, Hospital waiting times, double the increase in home visits due to strikes etc. We hope that St Georges patients will support us whilst we get through this difficult time, we are asking that if your reason to see a clinician is "routine" in nature that you contact your pharmacy in the first instance. We will always see you if your condition is such that it is urgent and hopefully we will be able to resume to a more normal appointment system soon. Thank you for your understanding and patience kind regards Marion Costello Practice Manager St Georges Surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been most impressed by the way the vaccination programmes have been organised and delivered by the Surgery over the past few years and most recently the flu and Covid booster programmes

Thank you to the kind secretary for getting back to me via phone call and then a text message regarding the echo referral to GRH and that it's on the system and in hand.

  5. Review titled Helpful enquiries line staff and kind nurse.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 September 2022

I had phoned to ask if the surgery had my notes from the hospital after a procedure, and just wanted to say thank you to the kind person through the ‘enquiries’ line who booked me a nurse appointment the same day, to answer some questions and check my wounds post surgery. I really appreciated that you went out of your way to help reassure me. And thank you to the nurse who was so kind and patient with me asking questions.
