  1. Review titled Can't book appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 December 2022

Can't book an appointment even when calling at 8.30 am, Lady on the appointment line is rude. Takes about 1 hour for them to answer the phone only to be told that they have no appointments. Someone needs to look into this surgery.

We do apologise that you found our reception staff rude and will look into this. Along with the rest of Primary care and indeed the whole NHS we are extremely busy at the moment. We are trying to cope with the normal winter pressures and this year many worried parents due to the concerns over the continued press alerts about StrepA. Please bear with us during this time, we are doing our best. Are you aware that you are able to call 111 who have access to some of our appointments if they deem this an Emergency as well as give you advice. You can also seek your local pharmacy for advice also. Please always let our reception staff know the problem as there are many other specialists they can book you in directly with other than the GP, including, physios, podiatrists, pharmacists, social prescribers and many more. Apologies once again, Spring Gardens Group medical practice.

Dear Patient we do apologise that you found our reception staff rude and will look into this. They are though under a lot of pressure at this time and normally try their best to accommodate everyone. You call for hours and no one answers, and if you go to them to schedule an appointment, the people at the reception tell you that they can't schedule you, you have to call

Dear patient We are very sorry that you are disappointed with our service. We do have an option for you to request a call back when the phone lines are particularity busy. The busy times are always first thing in the morning. We are aware that we have a lot of illness among our staff at the moment and also a couple isolating once again as testing COVID positive. This does have a knock on effect and we apologise if you have had to wait longer than normal. Our staff do try to answer the phones as quickly as possible. As an alternative 111 can help with minor problems and can book directly into our appointment book if you urgently need to see a Clinician, following their triage of your problem. I am sorry you could not book an appointment in person at the desk. You should be able to do this and we will remind the reception staff that advance appointments are available. The exceptions to this may be if you require a particular Clinician or one the same day. Once again accept our apologies. Kind Regards Spring Gardens Group Medical Practice

  6. Review titled Not too great receptionists with misleading infos

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Jen - Posted on 22 April 2022

Last week I had to call the gp. In first round, I wasn't able to speak with anybody through phone because the automatic responder just hung the phone on me without direct me to a real person.... So I went to the gp personally telling my health problem and the issue with the phone call. It didn't seem the receptionist would believe or understand what I was saying as I had to explain the problem many times and her reaction was quite cold. Anyway, I could manage a phone call appointment with a doctor finally. I expressed later to the doctor and the receptionist as well I still would liked to see a doctor face-to-face, both they said for that option I need to call the reception again next week (because of Easter) because the doctor can not arrange any appointment, only the receptionist. So the phone call happened on the next week, but the conversation with receptionist was hard. In one hand, instead of answering on my question why she couldn't give me a face to face appointment she just interrupted me and kept repeating herself that she just couldn't. Then on the 4th time finally she said because only the doctor can give me appointment face to face, not the receptionist. Two different informations from the workers, none of the recetionists were visitor-orientated, it was hard to get that help... I am going there because I have a problem, not because I want to annoy them. They shouldn't handle me in this way.
