  1. Review titled Get appointment by ringing NHS111

No appointments, staff rude, receptionist will diagnose you and it’s up to them if you need to be seen even though they are not medically trained!

  2. Review titled I don’t know what people are talking about

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I just wanted to put a positive review among the stream of negative. I have type 1 diabetes and neuropathy of the foot, I had a fall and have a nasty gash in my toe. I didn’t want to bother A&E so I dressed it myself and called the GP practice the next day. I was on hold for about 30 minutes, but when I got through I spoke with a really helpful receptionist who got me a nurse appointment straight away. The nurse was amazing, she dressed my foot, reassured me and give me an appointment for a redress and check there and then for a few days later. I can’t fault this surgery. I understand it’s difficult to get an appointment, but they are stretched by the GP shortage and with Shefford growing at an rapid rate they are doing their best with what they have. I’ve honestly never had a problem getting an appointment when following the correct channels. There are plenty of pre-bookable appointments if you can wait a few weeks (which lets be honest most can). I think people have an expectation that the NHS should drop everything and see them, but they have to triage and will offer first come first served appointments and if you’re an emergency they will fit you in, alternatively if you’re that I’ll, that is what A&E is for. Thank you Shefford Health Centre, I for one am happy with the service you have provided.

  3. Review titled Awfull service

Rated 1 star out of 5

When you finally get hold of reception staff you get told no appointments left for that day. If you need a pre booked appointment ring back at 10am so you wait all that time in a queue for nothing. The surgery has some staff on the desks that have no people skills whatsoever I find the younger reception staff friendly & helpful Others shouldn’t deal with public at all.

This surgery is unbelievable the staff are rude arrogant and just absolute pigs! I have never come across a place like this working in an industry with communication and people skills I find it unbelievable how staff can talk to the general public in the way that they do there is never any appointments when I found a lump I was told put up and wait like everyone else call again in the morning use 111 is that really a place that you want to feel that they care for your health care needs?

  5. Review titled Great service once you get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

After getting through the phone obstacle course - 30 in the queue after 1 minute of the lines opening, the service is great. However, communication lets this surgery down. Every month, I ask a question with my repeat prescription request. I have NEVER had a reply. After trying to call the surgery in the evening about an urgent prescription, I was told to call a different number and they would be open for the next hour. I called the other line, It was engaged for 20 minutes. I drove to the surgery to find it closed and the staff having a chat behind the desk. I knocked on the door explaining there was a problem with their phones and was then miraculously able to ring through…Was this a genuine fault? I think not, especially as it has happened on more than 1 occasion.
