  1. Review titled House visits

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 October 2022

Is it normal practice for your GP’s to abandon a house call because they cannot find a house and then return to the surgery without ringing the patient to ask where on the estate you live. There are twenty five houses on my estate all clearly numbered. All he had to do was ring me. He then asked the COPD nurse to ring me instead and she said “Sorry I can’t help you” The GP then rang me and said he couldn’t find my house and he got wet because it was raining so he returned to the surgery. I had to ring 111 and the paramedics said I need more antibiotics and steroids but as it is the weekend I have now got to wait until Monday to get them. The paramedics found my house immediately and were appalled at the service I received from your surgery.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to read your comments and would like to apologise for any distress that has been caused to you. It is most unusual for one of our doctors not to complete a home visit. As you have not given any details regarding your name or the GP who failed to visit I cannot identify which doctor this was but I will speak to all of the doctors here at the surgery to share this experience and discuss how we can avoid something like this happening again. Please accept my sincere apologies. Jackie Evans Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Pharmacy and Reception

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I would like to thank the staff in the pharmacy at Pershore Medical Practice. I am always treated in a friendly and respectful way. I appreciate how hard you have all worked during the pandemic. I also think the receptionists have a very difficult job and I would like to say thank you to you all too. Also a big thank you to the people who deliver my medications.

We are very lucky to have this surgery in our town. The staff here are all talented and caring - we just need more of them for the growing town.

Thank you so much for your recent review and helpful comments. The staff really appreciate hearing from patients and it is uplifting for us to get such positive feedback. We have noted your comment about increasing staff numbers and are currently in the process of recruiting additional staff to help us cope with increasing patient demand. We have recently recruited 2 new GPs, 2 new administrative staff, 2 new dispensers and 1 additional clinical pharmacist. We are also currently looking to recruit another Advanced Nurse Practitioner and a practice nurse. Many thanks and best wishes from all at PMP. Jackie Evans Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Good practice which has done its best in the last 2 years

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My experience has been very good. I have had mainly telephone calls which have been ideal for me. This includes rapid hospital referral. Not everyone needs a face to face though I understand that some patients do. In my experience the pharmacy have always been very helpful. And yes whilst there have been staffing issues all at the practice have tried to do their best.

  5. Review titled Prescription service is appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 June 2022

Went to pick up mine and my wife's repeat prescription on Friday last. 6 people in the queue before me and all of us having issues with prescriptions not being ready told it was due to shortage of staff. Before we moved to the area our old practice used to allow you to have 3 months repeat prescriptions, here we are told categorically only one. I checked with a friend who is still with our old practice in the South East and the old practice still does 3 months so please don't use Covid as the excuse. Why can Pershore medical centre not go to three months repeat for long term conditions such as mine and my wife's, would save us hassle of having ro come once a month and solve the staff shortage at a stroke.

I am sorry that you are not happy with the repeat prescribing service provided by the practice. I do understand your objection, regarding our repeat monthly prescribing prescription policy. However, it is our Practice Policy and we are following the standard encouraged by South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group to help balance compliance, medication reviews and reducing medicines waste. We apply the policy to all our patients for all medicines (except those supplied in three month packs i.e. some contraceptive and some hormone replacements therapies) to ensure fairness to all of our patients in order to keep a clear and transparent service for all concerned. We also ask for five working days notice for repeat prescriptions to allow time to order and process prescriptions. Unfortunately, we when you visited to collect your prescription we were temporarily short staffed due to illness. I am sorry for the upset and frustration this has caused. Should you wish to discuss this matter further please contact myself Georgina Hall, Dispensary Manager or the senior partner Dr. Rankin. Kind Regards Georgina Hall ________________________________________
