    I had to leave work yesterday as I was ill so tried calling for appointment. The receptionist said call at two so I did and when I eventually got through there were no appointments but she said come tomorrow and see the nurse she’s in at half ten. So today I did that and the reception very rudely said have u got an appointment I said no I was just told to come and see if she’s available. They said there’s no appointments I have to call at two. So I called at two and no appointments. The receptionists are rude and very unhelpful and have no human compassion at all. They cut me off when I called as I could hear them in the back ground. I was in the queue for nearly thirty minutes I had to charge my phone as it was dying I was waiting so long. Diabolical service.

    Dear anonymous, We do not offer walk in appointments, and it appears there has been a misunderstanding in regard to you booking an appointment. I apologize for this miscommunication and invite you call or come to the reception desk at 8am for an emergency appointment tomorrow morning. We have a huge demand for appointments at the moment and this has unfortunately increased waiting times on the phone. If you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    When leaving a voice mail why can’t they say why “Can you please ring the surgery regarding your appointment “ Better “ we have had to cancel your appointment if you want to rearrange please call or call in “ Saves time and a phone call

    Well what can I say? Changed my address during covid this was 2yrs ago now, had nothing but problems with them since, all because I live 0.1 miles out even though it states on there website they have patientsfrom tipton area (next available doctors is 4miles away they wont accept us) I was assured I could stop at the practice as iv been there since I was born, even rang and spoke to pals to make sure this was OK, went to order my prescription and told you can't till your address on system is right I'm diabetic aswell as having heart problems, phones secretary explained the situation, reply was not been changed promised a call back I'm still waiting a week later, no heart meds or insulin available till its sorted

    Dear Anonymous, our reception staff have given the correct advice in regard to you being out of our area, you would need to register with a new GP local to yourself, you can use the NHS find a GP online service to do this. We will of course provide your medication for you. When there are address differences, the system does not allow for electronic prescriptions, but we can print your prescription for you. Please request your medications ASAP to ensure you have supply whilst changing GP surgeries. I'm sorry that you have waited a week for a reply from the secretaries, I was present when you were in reception yesterday and if you had mentioned this at the time, I could have assisted you then but hopefully this reply has answered any queries you have. If there is anything else we can assist with, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Had my flu vaccination which wasn't a good experience. I wish the vaccinators would be gentle with people. I didn't expect the jab in my arm which actually hurt. I'm not a wimp but please have a little care. Last weeks Covid vaccination at a local pharmacy was a pleasure. I never felt a thing. Perhaps oakeswells vaccinators might try to have the same sympathy with patients.

    Booked an appointment with GP last week for today at 10.40 for my dad due to upset stomach issues that keeps him awake at night, he had a blood and stool test done about two weeks ago and we have been advised to see a doctor in regards of results. This morning I made another emergency appointment for my 15-year-old brother as he is so unwell that he cannot get out of bed neither go to school. He has been booked at 10.40 as well but with different doctor apparently. Then my dad received a message saying his appointment has been cancelled due to doctor's absence. In the meantime, my mum said my brother is now covid positive, which means he cannot attend his appointment at the doctor to prevent putting other at risk. I rang the surgery to let them know that he is not coming, however I would like to swap this appointment for my dad as he is so desperate and in pain, and also, he took a day off work for it. I have been told by receptionist that the system will not let her do it as it is after 9 now and it is too late. Then I asked if we could keep my brother appointment in the system as it is and so my dad could attend, they could also leave a note next to the appointment to inform the doctor. Unfortunately, receptionist was not keen to help or find a solution. I put the phone down, and as it is not the first time that we are disappointed with the surgery and unable to receive any help, we are going to register with different GP. With all my heart I would not recommend this doctor surgery.

    Dear Patient, Thank you for the feedback you have provided. Unfortunately at times, appointments need to be cancelled for various reasons and this is beyond our control. I can understand your frustration however receptionists are unable to book patients in knowing that it is a false booking and that another patient would be taking the appointment. Emergency appointments are not generally used to discuss results unless they are urgent and therefore another routine appointment would be offered.     Thank you to the receptionist who called me today to arrange an appointment for next week with the diabetic specialist. I had to say I couldn’t take the appointment she was offering due to work but she found another way for me to have a consultation with the specialist. Thank you so much. I know we as a collective can all complain and I include myself in that but you went above and beyond to solve the issue for me today and I am grateful so thank you.

    After being on hold on the phone for an hour and a half and only moving from number 12 to 3 in the queue, I finally gave up after realising the surgery was now closed. How can they leave people queueing on the phone after they have gone home? Even worse is that it is the second time I’m reporting a patient of theirs fraudulently using my address.

    We are very sorry you experienced a delay when calling. Our phone lines are extremely busy at the moment and the wait is a little longer than usual. We are open and welcome you to come into reception if you are having trouble getting through on the phone. We do not have any control over when the phones switch off however your complaint is noted.
