Trying to get an appointment to see a doctor been suffering with a earache. Got told by receptionist cannot speak to a doctor need to wait for 10 days then ring back. Receptionist was trying to give me medical advice. Not happy with the service. Have to wait for an hour or so till to actual speak to someone or otherwise no appointments.. Not happy at all.

  3. Review titled Never answer phone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jason - Posted on 04 April 2023

I have been on the phone for 2 1/2 hours today as was told by 111 to contact my gp. No chance of that. Since this moved from eye road it’s become a nightmare to see a doctor, I totally understand the pressures on the nhs but this surgery is just a joke

  4. Review titled Very difficult to get an appointment.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 April 2023

As I experienced new symptoms, I tried to book an appointment to see my GP, after waiting for 1 hour 30 mins on phone, I was told no appointments available, not on the day, no next or no for foreseen future. As I have thyroid, I requested blood test long with new symptoms I was experiencing which the receptionist agreed. Just after the blood test same receptionist called to book an appointment with the GP (once again I had to go for another blood test). This is not only my experience, I have a very sick child who is 12 years old and needs antibiotics often. Just for the prescription no chance to get through the receptionist, I have to call St George's Hospital (where his main Doctor is). For his day to day health issues we have to call 111 which in my opinion is not right. Third case, about my husband. He is experiencing leg pains, but we are scared to call receptionist just to hear no appointments at all. I think we have right to see a GP for our good health and wellbeing which is very depressive for me. Please advise if we have to move surgery or try to sit and wait for my family suffer?

Thank you for your review we take all comments about the practice very seriously. Firstly as mentioned in previous responses we have over 90 appointments available with a clinician on average per day. The demand we face at present is unprecedented, and we like many other practices, are struggling to met it. We unfortunately do not have unlimited resources and are currently working to maximum capacity. If you can email your details to cpicb.nightingalemc@nhs.net I will look further into the matter

  5. Review titled Shocking, just shocking

Rated 1 star out of 5

It’s impossible to get an appointment. Staff are uncaring and unhelpful. They do not chase up other services on your behalf. They are arrogant and rude. It’s up to the sick patient to chase up everything. Clueless mental health care. Just shove you on pills then expect you to get better. No follow up, no compassion, no care. Expect patients to arrange their own medical reviews, then you call and are told no one is available. Then they leave you without any medication due to sheer incompetence and lack of communication. My mental health has been adversely affected by this doctors to such a degree that I feel they make me worse. They have absolutely no idea how to deal with mental health. It’s disgusting.

Thank you for your review we take all comments about the practice very seriously. Firstly I would like to say we have over 90 appointments available with a clinician on average per day. The demand we are currently facing is unprecedented, and we like many other practices, are struggling to met it. This is not the service we strive to offer but we do not have unlimited resources and are currently working to maximum capacity. Our staff are faced with an increase in abuse and negative attitudes everyday but are trying there hardest to offer the best service to our patients. Due to the demands on us, if you have been referred to another service we would ask that the patient call the service to see what is happening with their care. We have a dedicated Mental Health Nurse within the practice, who regularly evaluates and follows up patients who require it. If she is unable to help any further she would make a referral to a service that could help. I am unable to comment on your medication without knowing your details, but I am more than happy to look into this for you if you can email your details to cpicb.nightingalemc@nhs.net Many Thanks Sophie Parling Practice Manager

  6. Review titled Seem very bad!

Rated 1 star out of 5

I asked, as a new resident here, for a repeat prescription. I gave asthma and COPD and wanted to order my medication. I was told i couldnt order till the day it was meant to run out! This meant i was without any puffers over the weekend and until i could order. When i did i got a really nice receptionist and received it next day. I dont know how i managed!! I had a phone call 2 weeks ago to gave blood pressure checked. Since i cant get there, i was to have a visit, nothing happened in those 2 weeks. Poor practice, wish i could keep my old one. I got 2 x all my medication. This will never happen here, have a job to get 1 lot.

  7. Review titled poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had to wait nearly 2hrs to talk to the receptionist who managed to give me an 'emergency' appointment for my 5wk old. I was told to send pictures to be reviewed. Dr called back and left a voicemail saying that they have sent a prescription to be collected. I have no idea what is wrong with my baby and when I called back again at a later time ive been told to call the following day as they have no appointments. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful. Why are they not seeing patients? Especially babies! I always have issues getting an appointment and every time I call its at least 30 mins to get through but this practice it appalling and I wish I could go back to my previous Dr as I never had any issues like this!

  8. Review titled Poor experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

Email and online said appointment was at 16:00. Called 2 hours early when no reasonable person would expect their appointment to occur. I missed it (as I was not waiting by the phone waiting for the call 2 hours before and had no way of psychically knowing that would happen) and they then cancelled appointment and moved it to when I’m not free without even checking with me. Extremely poor communication and was told when called about it ‘we don’t guarantee a time’ Might want to tell that to your website and confirmation text message then! That pretty obviously said 16:00. In their defence though I only checked online and mobile and not my crystal ball. Perhaps the notification of the changes was in there? Needlessly added stress to the situation and feel could have been managed much better, both in communication and in handling. To compound matters this is not the first time I have had an appointment cancelled on me without even talking to me. People take time off in order to make these appointments. Even telephone ones as i can’t speak privately at work. Wasting people’s time and effort and embittering them towards the service.

  9. Review titled Extremely poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Christopher Fell - Posted on 25 January 2023

Rude and uncaring receptionists, long waiting times on phone (30 minutes +), then told there are no appointments. Six monthly diabetes reviews and blood tests not adhered to. Have to ring up and demand one (up to one month for available appointment with diabetic nurse)! Sometimes wonder if the practice actually has doctors on site, as staff car park rarely has more than two cars in it. Getting an appointment has always been a bit of a challenge, especially after they moved from their old address in Poplar Avenue, Peterborough, but from the outset of Covid lock down, and up to the present date, this practice has become unreachable and uncaring towards its patients, and judging by the high number of bad reviews it has, it needs to be investigated for failure to supply the service they are paid for, which is to provide a a caring and efficient practice for their patients. This is a legal and moral requirement, which this practice sadly seems to have been ignoring.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I arrived for my 1030am appt to see foot doctor, receptionist said he normally comes in at 1030 and told me to wait, 30 mins later I felt that I had been forgotten, went to reception to be told I don't know where he is but didn't seem to follow up, I walked out in dismay as was told to come back and wait .

Hi The podiatrist is attached to the practice but is an outside service, which we offer that uses the building. I apologies the receptionist were unaware as to where the podiatrist was. It would be the responsibility of the third party to make us aware if he was late or unable to turn up. It appears this communication was missing. Many Thanks Nightingale Medical Centre
