  3. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I had a breast lump that needed looking at, the phone lines were not accepting calls and the e consult was switched off. I came into the surgery Wednesday morning and filled in a triage form @0930ish. I got a call back at roughly 11am from the receptionist saying the GP would like to see me and offered me a choice of appointments for that day. I chose the 3pm one. The GP was empathetic, caring and most of all listened. I was referred that day to the breast clinic. On Friday I had a letter offering me an appointment the following Wednesday. I attended the appointment had a mammogram, ultrasound and a small procedure and then saw the consultant all in one day. Amazing service and care 7 days from initial call to treatment completed. Thank you to everyone involved.

  4. Review titled First Class Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have had to to consult the Whiteley Surgery on two separate occasions over the last 6 to 8 weeks for different conditions. Both times I submitted an e-consult form and left it with the surgery and in both instances I was contacted within 2 hours , one resulting in an initial telephone consultation followed by a face to face appointment a week later with the doctor and the second a face to face appointment again with the doctor on the morning of submitting the e-consult. I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent and responsive service I have received from the friendly and helpful reception staff both at the Whiteley and Highlands road practice together with the professional and empathetic approach from the nurses and doctors who I have seen recently. The prompt communication I received with regards to advising me of my test results via a text message, was first class and helped put my mind at ease. As a Whiteley resident for over 20 years I have always had a very positive experience when needing to consult with the Surgery. Keep up the good work.

  5. Review titled Excellent, supportive and reassuring.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by C Mountain - Posted on 29 September 2022

The Diabetes specialist nursing team have been excellent. They have supported me through a developing diabetes condition where usual care has not proved straightforward. I have needed help adjusting to various insulins use and now a Continuous blood sugar monitoring device. The GP practice including medical, nursing and reception staff have all been helpful and efficient.

  6. Review titled Prescriptions always wrong and 3 month wait times

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 October 2022

They get my prescription wrong every month, they don't allow you to put your prescription in 28 days before which leads to running out of critical medication every month. There are waiting times of over 3 months for medical record requests (which people need for employment and am at risk of losing employment over). The GPs themselves are very good but the admin and anyone who deals with prescriptions are not. This was not a problem prior to the 3 surgeries merging during covid.

Dear patient, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, as this is an anonymous comment, we are unable to look into your specific requests. With regards to requests for medical records, whilst this information is important for patients, it is not considered as NHS work and is not permitted under NHS guidance to be done in our core GP hours which can only be used to cover NHS work. Therefore, to complete this work, we must ask our clinical team to do this on top of their normal day and after their NHS work has been completed. All of this work was paused during Covid by the Council but has now been reinstated. Therefore, all Organisations have a considerable backlog to complete at a time when GP Practices are under considerable pressure to catch up on lots of clinical concerns that have been on hold through the pandemic. Our workforce is really stretched to cover the core NHS work and therefore it is difficult for us to ask GPs to do other work at the end of a very long and exhausting day. We do have a few GPs who are covering this work on their days off or over the weekend, but this has been difficult to organise as any additional work anyone was willing to cover needed to be used for the core clinical services we need to provide. We are doing our best to work through the backlog and prioritising anything that has financial implications for patients, but this has to be done once our NHS work has been covered. With regards to your prescriptions, our Pharmacy and Prescribing Teams are able to issue ongoing medications, such a rolling monthly repeats, but this is dependent on individual circumstance in the case of dependency and safety of our patients. If you do wish to have your medications reviewed, and considered for repeat, please contact our team to discuss this. Regarding our decision to merge our 3 surgeries, all practices across Hampshire are reporting unprecedented levels of demand for their services. As a larger merged practice, we are in a stronger position to deal with the pressure than as three individual practices, however this national pressure on GP services does come at a time when we are still aligning our business processes as a newly merged business and so our systems are not yet as efficient as we would like them to be but we are working hard to constantly review and improve our services, and we are seeing these improvements taking effect in our data and patient feedback we receive. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. Kind regards, James Leach Patient Service Manager

  7. Review titled Quick service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Jeff Pedersen - Posted on 31 August 2022

Phoned surgery at 8 a.m twice in last week. On both occasions received call back from GP or nurse and prescription issued all within half an hour. From their newsletter it is apparent that the practice is extremely stretched but they are clearly doing their utmost to support their patients. Let’s support them in turn.

  8. Review titled Response on Triage

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Ailie Howells - Posted on 08 August 2022

Although it took 12 minutes to get through on the phone, the Advisor was extremely calm, caring and considerate to my problem. I wasn’t hurried through any questions asked and assured that it should warrant a Triage call. Within half an hour, I was contacted by text message and asked to send photos of the problem to be assessed. Again this is very reassuring as I had taken photos over the last few days. Thank you for this speedy response when under Monday morning pressure and with some staff shortages as well.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Once on the triage list everything happens swiftly. Even got to see a Doctor face to face on the same day! Very friendly and keen to simply explain my problem and give advice as to how make things better.
