  1. Review titled Caring GP

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Claire Woodward - Posted on 25 April 2024

My mum has unfortunately had to attend quite a few GP appointments recently. Whilst the previous visits with 2 different doctors within the practice were satisfactory, her latest visit with Dr M was excellent. This doctor took the time to listen to mum as a person, asked for her opinion on what she thought the best course of action was to take and actually took into account how her medical needs were affecting her quality of life. So nice to visit a compassionate doctor who doesn't treat older people as insignificant. Dr M, a big thank you.

Easy parking, smiley and welcoming receptionist to greet me and signpost me and a fabulous HCA who was friendly and efficient. Was in and out in under 10 minutes. Excellent service and nice to see happy people :)

  3. Review titled Gone downhill and want more people to sign up

Rated 1 star out of 5

You call the phone lines 20 mins wait and number 6, when you do get though they dont have any children flu clinics anyway and tell you to keep call to see when available. Madness seeing as we have people who are high risk in the family. We have also called for an appointment and been told there is a weeks waiting and have ended up in A&E and hospital over night with a sick child as they have said they did not have any appointments. very sad used to be a good doctors but not anymore

  4. Review titled untrustworthy

Rated 1 star out of 5

Been with them for over 20 years but now its got bad. Found the Doctor to be very arrogant and more interested in the business then the service. The last visit was insulting and degrading and I felt betrayed with the report made by this Doctor. They have shown me that they are not trustworthy and a disgrace to the profession.

From the reception staff to the Dr's. I can honestly say that all staff have been excellent and professional. I honestly can't find a fault.

  7. Review titled No appointments and very unhelpful Reception staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

I need a face to face appointment as soon as possible I am a medical professional with a genuine problem and rarely ask to see a GP I tried to complete an online consultation but it was over capacity and closed at 9 in the morning. I called to make an appointment, after 45 minutes on hold (even though I was only number 6 in the queue) I eventually got through to be told there were no face to face appointments available at all and I was offered a telephone consultation in 5 weeks time !! I explained that I could not wait that long and needed to be seen sooner and asked for a triage call to which the response was " your problem is not urgent and is only routine" by a receptionist with no medical knowledge who showed zero compassion and could not be bothered to help me. In desperation I took a letter to reception and asked for it to be given to the duty doctor requesting a telephone consultation still waiting for a response Appalling that there are no face to face appointments and you can't get a phone consultation unless the receptionist deems you worthy, simply not enough doctors and should not be taking on more patients I will be looking for another practice and would not recommend this one at all

Dear Patient, thank you for taking the time to let us know of your experience within the surgery. I am very sorry that you were unable to gain an appointment immediately, but we are facing unprecedented demand with fewer clinicians at this present time. Our reception team are very trained in trying to get patients to the best possible clinician in the most relevant timescale but this may involve asking some some additional questions in order to do so. I am receipt of your written communication and have responded to you directly. Please be assured that we take all concerns seriously and any identified learning will be addressed. I am sorry you feel that you need to register elsewhere and of course would very much like to work with you in order that you remain with us. Many thanks Sharon Prior, Practice Manager

  8. Review titled Going downhill

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Narinder Chadha - Posted on 15 April 2023

I ordered my medication on line as recommended by the practice. When collecting I found out that I was short by 2 medications. Called the practice and with option 5 I was put on hold and I was number 2 in queue and probably after 25 minutes I was number 1. I kept on hold for another 10 minutes when I realised that it is better I walk down to the clinic instead. After almost 40 minutes of holding on line I was disconnected. I went to the reception and enquired about my missing prescription which after some time was told by another young girl at the back office that they had missed them as it was done by some trainee. A very lame excuse from a professional who is in charge of medications for the patients. If a trainee is handling the prescriptions than is not she/he supervised? Anyway then I was told that a new prescription will be forwarded in the evening and I will get my missing medication on the following day which is a Saturday. But as a rule the prescriptions take at least 48 hours at the pharmacy to process so that makes it to following week before I get my medications. I was given an apology which I have to be satisfied with but how can I accept that when this was not the first time it has happened at this surgery. Moreover about my phone call I was told that phones are not manned during afternoon time so your staff think that we as patients are stupid who call on an open line and wait for 45 minutes without being attended to because the phone line is not manned. What is wrong with you people who act as the most unprofessional manner in the most responsible place??? I would definitely love you guys get treated in the same way as us. We are warned by your office that you will not tolerate abusive behaviour but if your staff come up aggressive behaviour and is right on your face than that is acceptable by you. I have been with this surgery for the last 23 years (Carlisle House before) but the standards are just going down and am very disappointed at this latter stage of my life when I am more dependent on the Surgery. Need to do some improvement at the office area now as I am not the only one who is complaining about the services given by you front desk staff.

  10. Review titled Rude and unprofessional

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2023

This surgery has terrible patient service and communication. I experienced rude and impatient behaviour. Was accused of trying to fiddle the system but I explained I was actually trying to save them time by not coming in even though the doctor had asked me to come in. They didn’t listen. Very rude, talking over me, then refused to give their name. Not the first time I have had an issue with this surgery, and I have only been here six months!
