    Rang constantly from 8:00 no answer had to do school run so could not go in person and tried again until 8:53 after 30 phone calls to be told no appointments for my mum who is 72 years old and having breathing problems due to chest infection and if she was that bad to take her to A&E where she would be stuck for 6 hours, Brilliant service not !!!!!!

    Dear Patient, Thank you for your recent feedback regarding BHF Goldthorpe. I am sorry to hear of the concerns you have raised regarding not being able to contact the practice by telephone and not being able to get an appointment for your mum. I can confirm that our staff members at BHF Goldthorpe do try to offer the best patient care and answer the telephone as soon as possible, we do however have high patient demand for appointments, as do all practices and there are times when the telephone line is busier than others meaning that other patients can’t get through. I would like to provide you reassurance that all feedback is taken seriously and enables us to learn and improve patient experience therefore I appreciate you bring this to our attention.     Phoned at 8am for a on the day appointment as I visited the surgery the day before to explain the pharmacy had sent me round to make an appointment, I was told there was no appointments and to be ring at 8am which i did the phone kept ringing and ringing 48calls I made to the surgery and noone answered. I phoned again later in the afternoon to see of there was any appointments available and explained how I had tried to phone this morning and noone answer the reply was just rude, I've been here all day and can only answer one call at a time. Yes I understand that but the phone was just ringing and ringing with no answer I was doing as a pharmacy I told me to do and seek GP advice but can't do so. I'm going to leave the surgery it isn't the 1st time this has happened

    Dear Patient, Thank you for your recent feedback regarding BHF Goldthorpe. I am sorry to hear of the concerns you have raised regarding not being able to get an appointment. I can confirm that our staff members at BHF Goldthorpe do strive to offer the best care to patients possible and apologise if you feel your experience at practice was not like this. We will address the rude attitude you have referred to with our staff members at BHF Goldthorpe as this is not the standard we accept. Our staff members at BHF Goldthorpe do answer the telephone and try to offer as many appointments as possible, we do however have high patient demand for appointments, therefore they do tend to go quickly, this is the same in all GP practices. We do try our best to speak with patients as soon as possible and have ample staff members answering the telephone, we do however have to ensure there is someone on reception dealing with patient queries who are in practice and marking patients as arrived. I would like to provide you reassurance that we are attempting to meet patient demand for appointments as much as possible with additional clinical staff having been employed at practices to improve appointment availability.
