  1. Review titled Efficient and great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kwei Yin Chiu - Posted on 19 February 2024

Our family moved in this area recently and got registered with Stratford Villiage Surgery quickly. Health check appointments are recommended and arranged efficiently for my husband and myself. The nurse attending our health check performed pleasantly with her heartwarming skill and care. I was recommended to book blood test the next day and smear test in the afternoon, which is so efficient. She is cheerful and positive advices were heard all along. My experience in smear test in the afternoon was also smooth and pleasant, which was performed by another professional nurse. This GP service is so far highly recommended.

  2. Review titled Receptionist

Rated 3 stars out of 5

The receptionist I saw today was extremely helpful. He went out of his way to help me register online for patient access. There were many people at the desk and he helped numerous people at once whilst always keeping calm and professional. He is a credit to the practice.

I was in another gp previous. But they were very slow in appointment and everything. But I am happy with this GP. Because they understand the urgency and they try their best to give appointment as soon as possible. Thanks Stratford Village Surgery.

  4. Review titled great people at the reception

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I don't have any health problems and had not seen any GP. Every time I went there I just get the service of those at the reception. They were all very helpful even when there was a queue and they had to work non-stop.

  5. Review titled Terrible disorganisation and unwillingness to help

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 August 2022

I have been with this surgery for a few years and have always found it difficult to get timely appointments (even if urgent) but in the last year it has become steadily worse. I joined after doing lots of research and reading positive reviews but I have seen little evidence of it. Doctors and nurses are generally polite and helpful (when you do manage to see them) but the reception staff are rude by default. I have experienced this myself and also witnessed it with other patients when queuing at the surgery. Staff have a set of terse stock responses to all issues, and you have to work really hard (insist, beg or both) to have them actually listen to you when you try to explain your situation. This is especially frustrating as administrative errors there are common (eg. wrong appointment times, missing prescriptions or test results) but there seems to be virtually no communication between staff so you find yourself explaining errors/issues again and again. I have now changed GP surgeries as I have found that staff share a condescending and negative attitude towards patients and an unwillingness to listen or show compassion. Even when errors are admitted, there is no apology or accountability so it’s clear that there is no respect for the patients they are meant to be supporting. Expect long waits for appointments, admin errors and rude, unhelpful staff.

My partner and I did research before choosing this Surgery. All the people we have met in there are kind and helpful. The receptionists are very patient and give us good advice how to proceed. The nurse and the doctor we met are great.

  7. Review titled Abysmal

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 April 2022

Honestly I don't think 3,000 characters are enough for me to describe the absolute horrors of going to this GP service. For someone suffering from mental health issues, absolutely every part of this service has been atrocious and have enormously added unnecessary stress and misery to my life. From calling to get repeat prescriptions to be told it's not on the list (medication I need to manage my mental health); to the blood test form issue that I see others have commented on; to accusations that I am intoxicated when expressing frustrations with the service (even though I am one year sober - which is extremely triggering); being told that I have been taken off services for not replying (even though I had, and even though I hadn't been taken off the service); being told my blood test form wasn't urgent even though that was requested by a specialist. Every single interaction has been so shoddy and mismanaged that - as much as I know the Conservative "government" is underfunding the NHS enormously - I can't help but wonder if this can even be described as a service so much as a disservice. Coming through this GP has been DEHUMANISING.
