This surgery seriously needs to be reviewed My dad's medication yet again was not done correctly, I request on the date it states, wait the 48 hrs as they state, but always when I go to collect, 'its still sitting with the doctor waiting ro be signed' Patients are running out of medication, as on average it can take them upto 2 weeks to sign off a prescription that is handed in, this is not acceptable at all, especially when you need the medication for long standing illnesses

  3. Review titled Lucky if you get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sheila & Eamon Madden - Posted on 05 November 2022

Husband & I have been patients for 15 yrs & this practice used to be great but no longer. My husband telephoned at 8am on 17/10/22 waited 30 mins to get through & surprise surprise no appointments when he eventually got through. Tried all week with same results & eventually on 21/10/22 got an appointment for 10/11/22 for telephone consultation! He is very chesty & how is a telephone consultation with a nurse going to help. I understand surgeries are under enormous pressure, however patients only get in touch with GP practices due to being unwell & it would be of help if patients could actually have face to face appointments. Covid cannot be used as a permanent excuse. I do not like complaining regarding GP Practices but there comes a point where you just get fed up of being understanding. I have noticed there is a big sign outside this practice stating they are taking on new patients. This is absolutely ridiculous considering present patients cannot get an appointment via telephone or on line. My husband has not been able to see a GP face to face for over 2 years. Telephone consultations are a complete waste of time - we may as well ask a pharmacist! I know from other family members that their GP practice ie Eaton Court in Castlevale do have face to face appointments and actually get an appointment - so why does this practice use Covid as an excuse.

Dear Mrs Madden, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your frustrations when trying to obtain an appointment. Daily when the surgery phone lines open we have colleagues in the practice along with colleagues in our call centre working hard to answer the calls as quickly as possible. The appointments we offer are a mix of face to face and telephone consultations. Onsite to maximise appointments for patients we have clinicians with different skills which allows us to offer appointments with the most appropriate qualified health care professional based on symptoms. If you would like to discuss your concerns further please email eatonwood@nhs.net for the attention of the Site Lead Officer.

  4. Review titled Confusing as to there actual purpose

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Arthur G Crooke - Posted on 10 August 2022

Apparently GP as this practice can not deal with more than one patient medical reason for an appointment, According to the receptionist on duty this morning 10th August 2022. We were told to make separate appointments for each medical reason.

  5. Review titled No Urgent Appt Made or Return Phone Call To Explain Why

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 July 2022

My mom had her blood pressure readings taken 05/07/2022 and the nurse advised her would request urgent GP face to face appt. Not heard anything today 48 hours after so tried to call. Surgery phone lines closed from 1pm. Call centre called GP directly, GP had reviewed results and Blood Pressure was in order and no need for appointment so she can rebook cataract operation. Call centre advised that the GP couldn't give an explanation as to why nobody has phoned me back to explain. She is 89 years old, how was she going to be informed if she hadn't chased up. Not good service.

Impossible to get through via phone to book appointment let alone to get to see a GP face to face. To receive a call from a GP providing 'advice' but offering no support or signposting to other sources of support unacceptable. Rude GP who doesn't accept patients are entitled to their own personal opinion. This practice needs to be inspected as it's not fit for purpose. Unable to deal with volume of patients it has on its register but recently 'advertising' registering new patients. Unbelievable

  8. Review titled Another to the list of bad reviews

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have now started to screen shot everyday last week of not getting through to the surgery. It just says busy. When you do get through appointments gone, ok I will book in advance! (Even though illnesses don’t say your going to be sick 28 days later) We have nothing for up to 6 weeks! With what doctors most of them are triage. I think this surgery needs to have a serious think about closing down. It’s a risk to those who don’t realise symptoms may be worse then what they thought and do not think of going to secondary care. Honestly this was a lovely general practice been with them 16 years but patient care comes first and that’s not just with diagnosis but the whole experience of getting help and it can just start by taking the first step in calling their doctors. Please make an executive decision to either get more doctors or close the surgery and join other practices within Erdington and help those!

  9. Review titled Not Getting A Reply or Requested Letter

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 July 2022

Following the surgery reply on this site, as requested by you I submitted an email 9th July for the surgery to review my recent experiences at surgery and for my request for a letter for the hospital to rebook my cataract operation. Received automated response 9th July confirming receipt and reply to be received asap. Chased Friday 15th July as no reply, was advised surgery hadn't received email or no notes on my records regarding previous requests over the phone and by call centre for hospital letter, advised got automated response confirming receipt. asked to resend email which I did 15th July and advised my letter would be done by Monday 18th July without fail, still no reply, so called 19th July, told my emails 9th and 15th July not received and no record of phone call 15th July on my records, therefore no letter had been done. Was advised would send today for urgent action and to call back again in 2 days. It is now 10 days since receiving your automated response, how many requests need to be made 3 emails all of which allegedly none received by your direct email address, 4 phone calls, all of requests not actioned or recorded on my notes. All I need is for the person who reviewed my blood pressure readings to write a letter to the hospital confirming that my readings are in order for my operation to go ahead and he/she is happy for me to have the operation. This is to be faxed over to 0121-424-4532 urgently so I can have my cataract operation rebooked. Is this too much to ask for before my cataract gets too bad?? Not sure what your computer system is doing as sending automated confirmation and then being advised n phone of non receipt and also non recording or actioning my phone call requests and those of the call centre when your lines are closed every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. I await your response.

  10. Review titled Appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 June 2022

Call 8 am 10 working days in a row and am unable to get appointment. This morning I was able to get through at 8:04 to be told that all appointments were gone for the day . They are always saying there are very limited appointments or emergency appointments only. They want you to take children to the badger clinic, which will only refer you back to your doctors if it’s not a simple need. They have a sign out front stating taking new patients but you can never get a appointment. Please take the sign down and have Midlands Medical Partnership look at their doctor allocations per office as there is something off with this set up. Very poor service
