Rated 4 stars out of 5

Reception staff helped me through a very anxious time simply by welcoming me in to use the practice loo as part of my daily journey to hospital for gruelling radiotherapy.

  2. Review titled No access

Rated 1 star out of 5

I phoned for an appointment. The reception triage didn’t even take details of symptoms just said no appointments, phone back later. Also there were appointments, but 3-4pm. For some reason you have to phone at 3pm for the 3-4pm appts. Why?

Thank you for leaving feedback. I am sorry you have not had a good experience of the practice. We do train our receptionists to take details of symptoms to assess urgency and I am sorry this wasn't done on this occasion. We release urgent appointments on the day at 8:45am and 3pm so this would have been why you were advised to call back at 3pm. We have recently made more pre-bookable appointments available which are released each week - these can be booked online or by telephone. You can also complete an electronic - consult via our website.

  3. Review titled Reception always says to call later at 3pm

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 July 2023

For any appointments or to talk to doctors they tell us to call at 3pm. And if we call after 3pm then they say to call in the morning next day as the doctor is busy. They don’t even take your contact no to have call back arranged. This is not the first time we are facing it. GP’s are great and helpful. Only the way how reception ask you to call later is not appropriate. At least they need to take contact number and call back should be arranged.

Thank you for leaving feedback. I am sorry you have not had a good experience of the practice. We do train our receptionists to take details of symptoms to assess urgency and I am sorry this isn't what you've experienced. We release urgent appointments on the day at 8:45am and 3pm and demand for appointments is high. Unfortunately, we do not have capacity to take numbers and arrange call-backs but we are hoping to introduce a ring back function on our telephone system in the near future. However, so this would have been why you were advised to call back at 3pm. We have recently made more pre-bookable appointments available which are released each week - these can be booked online or by telephone. You can also complete an electronic - consult via our website for administrative queries or requests for appointments.

I’m a new patient No patient access to letters nor appointment information Nor able to get this from reception Calling and no answer in an emergency I might as well keep to 111 as this surgery are not available and have no guidance Reception are rude and the doctor forgets to do what she said she would do! I’m disabled and find this experience with this surgery mind blowing !

Thank you for leaving feedback. I am sorry you have not had a good experience of the practice. We encourage people who have had concerns about the practice to contact us directly so we can investigate and respond personally. We are a busy practice and it can take time to get through on the phone. However, we have recently upgraded our telephone system to allow for better queuing and information and also plan to introduce a ring back function in the near future. I am sorry you found the reception team rude - all our staff have customer care training and endeavour to be helpful. In terms of access, appointments are available to book online or by telephone or by completing an e-consult online. We offer patients access to medical records via Patient Access or the NHS App. You can download the NHS App which will take you through ID verification OR complete an application form and provide ID to us for Patient Access - forms are available on our website or at reception. You can also complete a Subject Access Request for copies of medical records.

  5. Review titled What has gone wrong with this practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Gerald - Posted on 06 March 2023

I have been with this practice for more than 35 years. These days if you ring at 3pm you can hold indefinitely and if you are lucky enough to actually speak to someone you will be told there are no appointments available. This is a very sad state of affairs especially if you really need to speak to a doctor.

I am sorry to hear you feel the practice has not kept up high standards in recent times. We try to balance the offering for routine and urgent appointments alongside patient demand and clinical availability. We are now offering additional GP and Nurse appointments at evenings and weekends and making use of allied healthcare proffesionals for appropriate problems. We have recently upgraded our telephone system to allow for better call qeueing and hope to shortly introduce a call back function. We also offer appointments bookable online or by completing an e-consult.

  6. Review titled Dreadful impossible to contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 December 2022

I have an ongoing condition which has resulted me going to A&E as impossible to speak to or let alone see a GP. A couple of blood tests and four months apart. Had a brief 30 second with a GP saying first test didn't look right, four months later, but can't get in contact again other than with the receptionist who tried to interpret blood tests for me but admitted she didn't have a clue. Again, no appointments available for anytime in the future

  7. Review titled Musculo- skeletal expert :)

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was referred here by my own practice to see the above expert. He was knowledgeable, patient and reassuring, asked lots of questions and examined my hand thoroughly. I was really impressed with the whole experience. Thank you NHS!
