  2. Review titled Great Cross Service

Leading up to a knee replacement operation my husband experienced a severe reaction to an antibiotic. The swift action and superb communication of; the pre assessment team at The Alex (NHS), Cheadle Hulme Health centre and the Chemist in Cheadle Hulme (staff and Pharmacist), meant that a quick change of antibiotic was possible with both the GP and Consultant’s approval and for the operation to go ahead on schedule (today). Thank you all for your perseverance and kindness.

Received an email weeks after leaving a message but cannot reply to the email. Why can’t the doctor accept an email back?

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on NHS Choices. We value constructive patient feedback and to help us learn from your experience please could you email the practice on gmicb-sto.p88007@nhs.net so that an appropriate member of staff can contact you to take further details? As your post is anonymous I am not able to investigate what happened in this instance but for patient-safety reasons, we ask anyone requiring treatment to telephone for an appointment rather than emailing with clinical queries. 4. Review titled Excellent, Thank you.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was seen at short notice by a doctor on 28/11/2022 due to complications I was experiencing following surgery. This doctor was the first medical professional to recognise immediately that I was at risk of DVT and arranged my immediate admission to A & E. I was diagnosed with a large blood clot in my thigh and was receiving treatment within hours. I owe this doctor a huge debt of gratitude. Thank you.

We have been struggling to get through on the phone for weeks often spending 30 minutes plus holding on the line two or three times a day. Phone system totally inadequate. Can’t leave a bad review as shows error! Daughter been trying for weeks to sort treatment.

  6. Review titled Helpful Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I moved my family to this practice in 2020. I fortunately haven't required any medical care, however the care both my children have received has been excellent. When required I have managed to secure a same day appointment. My baby daughter was swiftly diagnosed with an ear infection and treated with antibiotics and more recently I was reassured that my son's high temperature and aches and pains were the result of a virus. The only difficulty is getting through on the phone. It always takes over half an hour.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on NHS Choices. We value patient feedback and are pleased to hear that you are happy with the service we are providing. I do understand your frustration at getting through - the phonelines are, as you have experienced, extremely busy and demand is higher than we have ever experienced. Please persevere and be assured we are all working hard and doing our best to cope with demand at this period of very high pressure on the entire healthcare service. 7. Review titled Kind welcome

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary Hardiman - Posted on 24 November 2022

My Ukrainian house guest attended the surgery today for a check up with the practice nurse. She was anxious about going because of potential language barriers. However, the nurse could not have been kinder. She was gentle, encouraging, spoke clearly and put my friend at ease. She then assisted her in making an appointment to see the GP. At a time when we hear so many negative stories about the NHS, this is a shining example of how things can be. Not only that, but to show such kindness to a young woman who is stressed, anxious, homesick and far from her loved ones is priceless. I don't know the nurse's name but I cannot thank her enough. By 7.20 in the morning, you have already made a difference to someone's day! And for that, we will always be grateful.

  8. Review titled Rude receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 October 2022

I have waited on the phone for over an hour this morning to try and get an appointment. When I finally reached the receptionist, she said that she couldn’t book me an appointment and that I would have to ring back on Thursday morning. I asked why this was the case when she could see they had appointments available for the Thursday afternoon. She was very rude and said that just the way it is. I explained that I had been on hold for over an hour and that I was being asked to do the same again on Thursday. She became very irritable and said that ‘it was my fault for wanting a specific times’. The doctors have always been lovely and the nurse is fantastic but the receptionists are rude and unwelcoming and it is a nightmare to book a simple appointment.

  9. Review titled Care and Consideration

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 October 2022

The nurse who conducted my smear test was kind, caring and considerate. I explained that I find smears traumatic due to them being similar for investigations for miscarriages, for which I have had several, with no living children. The nurse took this into account and made sure I was comfortable the whole time and that I was ok afterwards. The NHS is under immense pressure and this was 5 star service from the doctors surgery. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Feel very let down

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 November 2022

I have been suffering with severe depression and anxiety since June 2022. After telephone consultations and prescription increase back in June sadly there has been with no improvement. I asked for an actual face to face appointment as I was feeling so distressed. Having seen by a doctor in person in early October - they reassured me I would be referred to a psychiatrist asap to review medication and I would hear back from the practice within a few days with what was recommended. Even if I didn’t get to see a specialist - the doctor would have access to discuss medication with them. Weeks and weeks later I am still waiting. I have tried to phone on many occasions with very lengthy waits and the receptionist not able to help with any information? after 40 mins or so of waiting today- twice ! The line went dead on both occasions. I have been looking for an email of who I could contact at the practice in desperation and none seem available?? I realise the NHS is struggling and under funded in all areas - however in mental health services it would appear none non existent.
