    I had my first TIA in June 2023, it was a Saturday and I was driven to A&E at North Devon District Hospital Barnstaple. I was very quickly attended to given an ECG, scan, blood pressure check and blood test, and eventually released although the doctor in attendance wanted me to remain in hospital because as it was the weekend no stroke specialist was on duty. In due time I had an appointment to see the specialist who changed my medication. I had regained the small difference to my face very quickly. The 2nd TIA happened 4 months later whilst I was in Spain, the Spanish hospital all checks and gave me a letter for when I returned to the UK. My local Surgery referred me back to the hospital, the specialist was concerned that I’d had another stroke within 4 months and this time my speech was affected, following this I’ve had an MRI scan and today an ultra sound scan and was informed that my carotid artery is only 25% furred up so nothing to worry there. She was kind and informative and did her job extremely well. Throughout the time since I had the 1st TIA the staff at the hospital have been professional, informative and caring.

    Just to say how efficient the practise was yesterday. I needed urgent medication and this was organised and sent direct to Lloyd's Pharmacy so I could collect that afternoon. Thank you really appreciated their help.

    Needed to speak to a Doctor told I need appointment nothing available for a week eventually after 3 calls Doctor phoned me and did what I asked no problem. The rest of the country have had to get on with life post covid except for Caen Medical centre. A & E you can walk in and treated in 35 mins!!! But you can't get an appointment to speak to a doctor for 7 days!!! Things need to change quickly
