    Spoke with reception on two occasions 24 hours apart and no doctor available, contacted NHS England to get doctor to respond. I believe that the situation is untenable. Avoid

    After being reminded I had to make an appointment for a follow up with the doctor who requested the follow up, i phoned the surgery to make an appointment knowing I wouldn’t get to see this doctor and I was proven right, I could not get an appointment even though this doctor requested this and it’s on my records. I was told in an aggressive way that I shouldn’t have been given this advice, first of all it wasn’t advice, I was reminded to do this. I was told I could see another doctor, now why would I see another doctor when The doctor who originally dealt with my health problems, of which a hospital visit was needed requested the follow up with him. I then asked when would this doctor be available, It was suggested I phone in a few weeks. I found the receptionist rude, aggressive in her reply. There seems to be no compassion. I know I’m not the only one. There’s more receptionists than any other member of staff and the majority seem to walk around with nothing to do. I was sat in the waiting room yesterday with a clear sight behind the main reception and there was a girl on her mobile, I mean come on. Maybe you should have no mobiles during working hours. The surgery is just a joke.

    Can't get appointment I've had 2 falls back at a&e doctor sent a letter I need to see doctor for follow up appointment why I keep having falls phoned them all they say no appointment phone back next day still no appointment been 6 weeks since fall still can't get in the same for my husband seen his consultant in January was told he has to see a doctor everymonth because of the medication he is on he has not even seen a doctor same excuse no appointments iwill report them again to cqc waste of space they are there even the receptionist

    Still the same old rude, poor service from the receptionists. Can't comment on the gp's as its impossible to get an appointment to see one. I almost wish I lived elsewhere as despite this being a lovely town the medical centre is the worst I have ever been forced to use. Things have not improved at Burnham medical centre in well over two years.The NHS should close this practice and start a new one with new staff and practitioners.

    I have copd and lungcancer to get an appointment or prescription is really difficult my opticians sent a request for eye drops to be put on repeat prescription for me and after asking at reception told its there waiting for a gp to sign it that was sent nearly 3weeks ago. In the past I have had to contact macmillian for help in getting me an appointment when my breathing , pain etc is really bad

    I am incredibly grateful to the team who helped see my daughter. She was in awful pain and with the help of the wonderful lady on reception and the brilliant practitioner, we received quick and positive treatment. Real signs of progress in the surgery recently and it was on full notice. Thankyou to all.

    I went to Berrow Surgery early morning as unable to get through on the phone. A very and helpful pleasant receptionist said I could get a same day appointment in Burnham-On-Sea surgery and was seen by the doctor there at 11.15am. I can't complain it seems they are trying to improve their service. If you are able better to go in personally to make a appointment.

    Receptionists are rude and useless. They fail to remember anything, make promises they fail to keep and have absolutely no regard for the service they provide. After being sent to A&E as an emergency I failed to get the requested treatment and after explaining this to the surgery the next day, the Receptionist sauid she had made a telephone appointment for me and promised a doctor would call that day. I'm still waiting. When challenged today the receptionist just said "well you will have to call back tomorrow we don't have anything available, not even a telephone call appointment" I would suggest this practice needs shutting down and a new one set up.

I am sorry you have not had good experience with the Medical Centre and I will certainly ensure I share your comments with our receptionists. Unfortunately, with the lack of clinicians and staff, we have been struggling to keep up with all the demands and to ensure we are still able to keep our Medical Centre open, as the alternative would not be good for anyone.     For a week I have been trying to book an appointment for a smear test. After finally managing to get through on attempt 6 with a 57 minute wait on the phone, I get told by the lady that I would have to ring back next week for an appointment as she did not know when further appointments will be released. I did ask which day she wants me to ring back to get the appointment but she did not know so I have to try every day. This is unacceptable and the incompetence of every reception staff in that medical center is clearly awful. I have worked in the NHS referral call center in the past which covered the south west and it does work like clock work. Why is it so difficult to get an appointment with this medical center.

    Receptionists are rude and are acting as if this surgery is the only surgery that is struggling. Probably better to close this surgery down, as this surgery has always been the same. Very unhelpful. I dread ringing this surgery at 8.30 knowing they are only taking emergencies and that feels like that has been going on forever and speaking to the receptionists early in the morning to try and arrange an appt, can make your day even worse. Some of them really don’t care and you can tell they are just there to get their Pennies.
