  1. Review titled Great practice and care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jennifer Allinson - Posted on 02 February 2023

I just wanted to acknowledge the fantastic care I have received at Brig Royd Surgery. I have been listened to with compassion and felt both heard and understood. Despite capacity pressures I have never felt rushed when attending appointments and my health concerns have been effectively investigated, and when required referred swiftly to specialist services. I wanted to record my sincere thanks to Brig Royd Surgery!

  2. Review titled Five Star/Gold Star service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Prof W A Douthwaite - Posted on 29 January 2023

Over the past 12 years, my wife and I have received superb service from the Brig Royd Practice. The practice administration is the best we have ever encountered in our 70 plus years. The clinical staff encountered have been capable, considerate and above all caring. This is an organisation that should be very proud of their value to society. We never cease to be impressed.

  3. Review titled Exceptional Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I moved to Brig Royd Surgery after being at my previous GP practice for almost 35 years. Having been registered with Brig Royd now for almost 6 months i have to say that i wished that i had registered with them many years ago. The service provision, expertise of all the GP's, nursing staff and admin support is first class. It was nice to have an appointment with a GP who actually cared and took his time to go through everything clearly. I am absolutely blown away by the service at Brig Royd and whatever you are doing keep going. Great customer experience and well done to all the staff.

Thank you to all the staff at brig Royd Surgery that have provided care to me this year. In another difficult year and as a fellow health care profession I wanted to take the time to thank you all. The gps I have seen have been exceptional and helped me with the health problems I have. Many thanks to the gp I saw today. Their empathy and patient centred approach has helped me so much.

  5. Review titled Exceptional patient care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Deborah Lambert - Posted on 30 November 2022

I asked for an urgent face to face appointment on Monday morning 28/11 - I had the appointment at 2pm the same day. I experienced worrying complications from the diagnosed infection on the morning of 30/11, rang at 8am seeking an urgent phone appointment and received a call back from the senior doctor at 9 am. This was followed up by a face to face appointment with him at 11 15. The professionalism, reassurance and speedy treatment that I received is literally priceless, and I am so very grateful that I live within this practice area.

  6. Review titled Appaling service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have made appointments over the last 2 weeks and all have been cancelled. I made an appointment for my depo contraceptive well in advance. The first appointment was cancelled due to the Queens funeral i tried to make another and was told the nurse was working elsewhere made another then they phoned to say i could not go despite telling them it was urgent as my depo was going to run out. They said that the nurse on that day is not qualified to do the injection. Then said they would make me another for the 28th of September which i would have been out of date with my depo as it runs out on the 20/9/22. They then came back and said i had to go tomorrow the 16/9/22 but i said it was too short notice as i was working. They then said the 22/9/22 which was 2 days overdue so they could do it,but i would have to take a pregnancy test to which i stated, why should i have to do that, when i they have cancelled all my appointments. So their response was well go to your local family planning if you can get an appointment. I could get one, so had to speak to my boss at eork to ask if i could come out of work on the 16//9/22 as a police officer on the busiest weekend the uk has experienced in years, as if i did not, then there was every possibility that i may have to go to London this weekend and i did not want to run the risk of either coming on my period whilst away and the depo would have run out whilst away. I am 48 years old and due to their utter incompetence, lack of trained receptionsists knowing what each nurse is trained to do was being told come for your depo late but you will have to take a pregnancy test i should never be put in that position whatsoever. I am no longer going to be fobbed off being told that staff sickness affects the surgery. The same has happened about my smear test. 12 months ago in September 2021 it came back abnormalso would need a re- smear in 12 months. So i rang to book an appointment for this unpleasent procedure in plenty of time to book my re smear, only for it to be cancelled again because the nurse they booked me in to see does not do them. I now have to wait until October 2022. When i got the results of the smear in 2021 i had to ask 5 times as they never got sent to me. And when i asked the receptionist finally for tge 5th time, she initally said everything was fine and all clear and then said "no no hang on"and laughed and said "nope i got it wrong you have a HPV. " I have worried for 12 months and now can't get it done until October 2022 due to their complete incompetence. I sincerely hope it has not got worse or i have stage 4 results in October. I am distraught and have never felt so irrelevant and like my health does not matter. I know full well with being in a front line sercice how difficult the last 2 years have been but if i behaved the same way towards people i dealt with i would have been either disciplined or sacked for speaking or acting like that to someone in that way.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you feel you have had a poor service and that your experiences with us have been negative ones. Disruption to appointments caused by staff absences, or appointment cancellations and rebooking are never ideal but necessary at times. It is unfortunate that you say you have experienced this a number of times. With regards to your clinical concerns surrounding your smear please do contact the Surgery and to speak to a member of our clinical team in hopes to give you some reassurance. Thank you for your time to share your views. Tina Reception Manager

  7. Review titled Kind, attentive and patience nurse.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2022

Just visited the practice with my 14 year old daughter for her injections which we chose to have done in the surgery not in school due to her being anxious and feeling faint after past injections. The nurse took her time to chat with my daughter and reassure her. After the injections, once again my daughter became faint, the nurse took us to another room where we she had time to lay down until feeling better. At no time were we rushed out of the surgery or my daughter made to feel silly for feeling the way she did. What a lovely, lovely woman you have working in the surgery. Thank you. Much appreciated.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Judith - Posted on 17 June 2022

I have found every member of the practice I have dealt with at Brig Royd Surgery from receptionists to Doctors to be very helpful and polite. I have always received quick responses and excellent advice when speaking to any of the Doctors there. They have always researched my notes before ringing me and I am very pleased with the service I receive. Thank you
