  3. Review titled Fantastic Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I contacted the surgery for a persistent cough, I received a callback from the Dr. within 30 mins. I had an appointment within 30 mins. of that call and was given a possible diagnosis and treatment, along with the promise of a chest x-ray at the local hospital. The Dr. gave me the x-ray dept. tel. number to call them if I hadn't been called within the next 24 to 48 hrs. I then left the surgery and travelled to Ashbourne to get my prescription filled. While I was stood outside a pharmacy next to my local hospital I received a call from the x-ray dept. asking when I was available for the appointment. I told them I was outside the hospital and they invited me straight in. So from calling the surgery to actually having a chest x-ray was about 2 hours. Absolutely outstanding.

  4. Review titled Excellent Patient Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Needed my husbands medication as we were going away and he had forgotten to order it. Called the reception and the receptionist went and spoke to dispensary who sorted it out within the hour. Both reception and the dispensary were just amazing, not only very efficient but friendly and so helpful. They work very hard and in my experience work tirelessly to meet the needs of patients.

  5. Review titled Phenomenal doctor and care team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I went to see the doctor yesterday, straight through on the phone and an emergency appointment given by a wonderful receptionist. They saw me and prescribed antibiotics however over night my symptoms got a lot worse and so I called the doctors again and was given and afternoon appointment. The doctor himself then rang me to say I believe you have another appointment, I explained the circumstances and he squeezed me in within an hour of the call. Excellent doctor with an extremely high duty of care. He did a mini but very uncomfortable procedure that was necessary and it has relieved the excruciating pain I was in immediately. Fantastic advice given with no frills. Excellent service and I couldn’t recommend more.

  6. Review titled Terrible management

Rated 1 star out of 5

Have tried to book an appointment in advance as I can get time of work in a rush. Keep being told to book closer to the date that I have booked of from work 6 weeks in advance. I get to a little over a week before my booked time off (After a few weeks of trying) only to then be told that I can no longer book for that day as they are already fully booked. I'm desperately needing to speak to a doctor in regards to my medication but the receptionists can't be bothered to book anyone more than a 2 weeks in advance. Utterly terrible. I won't be recommending this practice to anyone and am currently looking to move myself and several family members elsewhere.

  8. Review titled This Gp Surgery does not want patients!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Sadly I have not had one good experience in the surgery and the only saving grace they currently have is the onsite paramedic who goes above and beyond to try and care and genuinely help the patients at Brailsford, and the new doctor who I have seen a few times now on home visits. I am housebound and cannot get my prescriptions or medications. The only way they said I could achieve this is to send the dispensary a stamped addressed envelopes to Lloyds Pharmacy, who will then deliver my prescription medication. I have to pay for Lloyds to deliver the prescription. However even this doesn't work and I am paying for it with the delivery service from Lloyds and the stamps on the envelopes, which when they run out I can't get anymore to them! On top of that, you have to pay for the Lloyds delivery a 6 month or 1 year subscription, but if the surgery messes up your prescription and someone else has to intervene for you, you are losing out on the service you are paying for at Lloyds. I have even had to pay for the Connex service to collect my prescription & then medication before because the surgery and Lloyds just couldn't work out how to do their jobs, which was yet another expense for me. When you are on benefits in a national financial crisis every penny matters. The amount of times I have ordered my meds each month for them to get it wrong. Ordering 1 months supply of heart meds to be sent 1 literal pill for the whole month! And the complexity of requesting insulin injection pens to be send just the vials of insulin with no way to inject it just baffles me. To add insult to injury as it were, it takes a week for the dispensary to send the prescription to Lloyds via snail mail and then a week for Lloyds to process it and a few more days on top to get it delivered to me. You literally need to order your prescription the day you receive it. At this current time I have run out of stamped addressed envelopes at the surgery so my medication prescription is still sitting in their outbox, no sign when I will get my much needed medication that I have been out of for a week now. The dispensary just tell me I need to get them envelopes or arrange someone to collect the prescription. But I can't get out my house and have no one to collect it. I can't afford to keep paying the Connex service to do it when it is £15 for each journey. I am pretty sure there are a lot of patients who have prescriptions sent to Lloyds, so why not put them all together and send in one envelope at the end of each day? I guess they want to save money on one stamp a day? If I could change surgeries I would but at the present time I can't, so I have to take my chances each time with not having meds and hoping that I don't end up in hospital or worse because of the situation. I genuinely feel like Brailsford does not want patients.

  9. Review titled How could what was a wonderful surgery sink so low

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been a user of brailsford practice for over 60years it was always a first class doctors until the last couple of years. Then things fell apart I have had many negative experiences in recent times but will just concentrate on today's issue in the hope it will bring about positive change. This morning I called to pick up a repeat prescription and found there were 30 people waiting to be served as I had to be elsewhere I decided to call later in the afternoon . some five hours on my return there were now 31waiting.over the next hour we move toward slower that snails pace.there were some very unhappy people waiting. I noted that when each in turn reached the head of the queue they were told that their prescription was not even ready and they were given the paperwork to take to a chemist (this has happened to myself on five previous occasions) very occasionally did someone actually walk away with medication. With growing trepidation I reached I reached the head of the queue, and miracle I actually received my medication yes I was lucky this time, but overall the dispencery service is appalling. At one time as I collected my monthly prescription, the date of the next collection was written on the bag and the details entered into the dispensary computer. Now we have the ludicrous situation wehere we have to drop the request in the box a week before( for myself this involves a 12 mile round trip 12times a year ,what a waste of time and fuel). The overall situation is so appealing its perhaps time that what are numerous dissatisfied patients (you only need to look at these review pages)came together to to demand some very urgent changes to the way what was in the past a very well run practice ,which has now become an absolute shambles

  10. Review titled Shocking Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Today I attended the Brailsford and Hulland GP practice and can safely say it’s customer service is appalling! From the Dispensary service to my GP appointment was a car crash and I’m seriously considering moving to another GP service! After being previously informed by Dispensary Team that my prescribed medication would be available to collect, apparently a new system has been introduced which I was required to use even though no one has recently informed me either through text or email of this, thus my medication was not available to collect! I saw a new doctor today who was using words such as “it’s up to you to contact the GP to chase your review” I mentioned the idea of a PSA test for Prostate Cancer and was told this was a “ignorant meaning” and felt throughout the whole appointment the doctor used negative and derogatory language and thus I will be making a official complaint through the proper channels. I will never see this GP again! I can safety say it was my worse GP appointment in history! I can see why there are so many negative comments re this GP service. The only person who had any empathy and kindness was the receptionist but everyone else was shocking!
