  1. Review titled Unprofessional and despicable customer service

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by A R - Posted on 14 March 2024

I called dentist for emergency appointment due to tooth fracture. As usual they were closed. Finally when I got through, explained had to make an emergency appointment else where but wanted “my dentist” to look at the situation. I was clearly very distressed. Instead of understanding situation, the receptionist on phone was rude, foul, unsympathetic and beyond a human being. I understood she saying she has 3 options, but I was taking little longer to see what options where best for me (she wouldn’t even give any form of help), she started being offensive and say I was causing her distress because she just came back from holiday and this is what she gets on first day back. I was calm and apologised if this is how she feels. I was the one giving customer service instead of the other way round. “Go figure” Cancellation came. I got a call. Went to appointment. Got there 20 minutes earlier but door was locked. I though ok, on lunch, I’ll wait. Came to near my time. Knocked on door. No one opened although hear people inside. Finally another colleague turned up and opened door (assuming g she back from her lunch). Went in. Guess what reception at desk. No manners. I waiting until she finished what she did and said why here. All I can do is remind myself I need to be understanding and I do not want to lose my appointment. Although receptionist continued to be cold. Went to dentist. Dentist asked question about any changes to my health. Thinking she asking me why I’m here due to the accident I started to explain physical health but she wanted to know about medication. I got the question wrong but instead explain what the question meant, dentist was rude and said in condescending why “no, what tablets or medication are on or not.” Along those lines. Have to say, the whole dentist in general is worst in people skills and because they know they have the upper hand. E.g if we say they are being rude, unkind they can turn it around and say we have to remove you from our dentist register. Getting a dentist NHS has been a difficult road. Though feel trapped in this dentist…if I had a choice I would defiantly move. And absolutely tell all my friends and family not to go to them if they can get a dentist so where else.

  2. Review titled Horrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

The whole team, from receptionist to the actual dentist are completely unprofessional. The dentist either recommends an extraction or refers you. She never smiles and acts cold towards children. Recently they called trying to rearrange an appointment to a date earlier than the one we had. They failed to explicitly tell us that they will only see minors with the company of a parent. This is never unnecessary and disruptive as the surrounding community either send minors with their elder siblings as parents have Jobs or are occupied. Appointments are hard to come by and this “special rule” for this “specific dentist” makes absolutely no sense. Now there’s a child whose tooth is paining and all they can tell us to do is call 111, where as it was their miscommunication that lead to this problem. The community is tired of them and some households have even registered to practices that are further away.

Dear Louis, We are sorry to receive your 1* review and that you feel that the reception and dental team are unprofessional. We can assure you that there is no rule for specific dentists and all children under 18 have to be accompanied by an adult to sign for any treatment if required. You can however nominate an adult to attend as long as you provide the practice with all the details in relation to that person, this is in place due to safe-guarding and the fact that a minor cannot consent to treatment. We are sorry that this has caused you to leave this review but if you would like to discuss this further please contact the practice and ask to speak with the Practice Manager. Kind Regards Julie Wood - {my}dentist Patient Services Team Leader
