Having serious pain with my wisdom tooth , Rang the Practice today to arrange an appointment. But because my dentist was on holiday the receptionist said I would have to wait until he returned. I said ive been in pain over weekend, She was less than helpful and quite Abrupt and insuated I find another Dentist. This Practice is fine if your a Private Customer but if your an NHS Patient you are treated differently. No matter what Conflict the Dentists have with the NHS It shouldnt have an impact on patients.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your review. We always welcome reviews both positive and negative as it helps us to improve our service. I cannot comment on your individual circumstances as you have not left your name. Our practice procedure is that when a dentist is on holiday, we offer patients appointments with other dentists at the practice if they are in severe pain or have a swelling. Less urgent problems including lost fillings, broken dentures etc which are not causing pain, are usually booked in with a patient's own dentist when they return. I'm sorry this did not happen on this occasion and I will bring this up at our next staff meeting this week. Joanne Gaskin Practice Manager

I recently joined this dental practice, which I found via the NHS dentists website. Staff are very friendly and professional. I had several fillings. My dentist was excellent.

I got to my appointment only to be told I had cancelled it the day before. I hadn’t. I was not seen as they had given my appointment away. If I could find another dentist I would.

I am sorry to hear about this mix up which was probably caused by human error. I have had a meeting with the reception staff regarding this to try to prevent mistakes like this happening in the future.

I have been coming to this practice for over 10 years, today i had my usual check up. During this check up i was told i have filling do i want it replacing? This filling has been in place over 30 years with no issues, why on earth would i want to change something that is causing me no issue.

The practice has been taking on new NHS patients since June 2023 and will continue to do so until June 2024. We only have the capacity to book in a maximum of 8 new patients per week. Unfortunately, our waiting list already far exceeds the number of people we will be able to accommodate, so we have taken the decision not to add anyone else to the waiting list for the time being. whilst driving for our annual check my wife who suffers from Dissociation Disorder dissociated and I asked the dentist does he want to rearrange our appointment which he declined and treated my wife with the utmost care and sensitivity

Although the NHS website says they are, staff at the surgery explained that they cannot currently accept new patients due to long waiting lists.

Always an easy experience coming here, there's a small car Park on site. Staff are well presented and all polite from as soon as you come in the door. Our dentist always has time to listen and makes sure any of our questions are answered satisfactorily. We've always had a really thorough service and they consider stuff that I wouldn't like them to... Like the receptionist contacted us over 24 hours before our most recent appointment to say the road might be closed for utilities work outside so could we still attend and plan to park and walk, little stuff like that goes a really long way.
