  1. Review titled Lack of empathy

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2024

Considering I was going in to talk about my mental health and something that I've been trying to pluck up the courage to go to the doctors about for years, the doctor showed not an ounce of sympathy or empathy for my situation as I relayed my issues and talked about my childhood trauma. I understand that the NHS is squeezed and maybe the doctor was also having a bad day but please put yourself in your patients shoes. You barely looked up from your computer and did not smile at me once. As someone who also works in a care role I know what it is like to go in on a bad day and still have to give 100%- it is hard but you owe it to the people that you serve.

  2. Review titled Compassionate!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nneka - Posted on 08 June 2024

It's a new GP as I just moved to the area abd speaking to my Dr during the face to face appointment was reassuring. I felt cared for and sensed a lot of compassion towards my care. All my queries were settled and I felt a lot relieved while leaving the practice, at the end of my appointment.

  3. Review titled Good practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Booked appointment via nhs website which is convenient. I can viewed my records which is great. I wish the consultation is done via virtual face to face eg Microsoft Team / Zoom which is easily available. Noticed that the doctor speaks abit too fast - assuming to rush through the appointment with time limit. Health discussion cannot be rush. Unless template available to prepare patient to give all essential information before the appointment.

  4. Review titled Not always accurate in record keeping

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Denise Gibson - Posted on 29 May 2024

They don't always update records properly or they put the wrong diagnosis at times. Do not put down some conditions as active. Quite frustrating. I had a call about blood pressure the other day, and although we talked about other things I had no idea as to why the doctors called again even though I had refused blood pressure meds previously.

  6. Review titled Friendly, efficient and effective practice.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dominic - Posted on 03 May 2024

I have attended this practice frequently in the last few months and am always grateful for its friendly and professional approach. My specific experience this week was no exception - on returning from holiday to find a message awaiting me asking for a phone consultation, I went to the practice to make the appointment and to try to understand how urgent it was. The person behind the desk was incredibly helpful in reassuring me and giving me the information I needed to make a decision, and also impressed me by listening to my concerns and going the extra mile to make sure these were relayed to the doctors. I am very grateful for her approach and support.

  8. Review titled Telephone GP feedback re test results

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Richard Watts - Posted on 28 May 2024

I had a moderately long standing episode of sciatic pain/? Piriformis syndrome, for which I was referred for an XRay & Hip Ultrasound. The GP practice uploaded the 2 reports quickly onto the NHS App, so I was able to read them prior to speaking to a GP (via a booked telephone consultation), and could therefore have a more informed discussion. The GP telephoned me within the allotted time, which is always important to me, and was able to clarify questions I asked her. The GP was friendly, professional and polite and gave me more than enough time to adequately deal with my query.

  9. Review titled Excellent help and care

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 May 2024

Please note I did write this review with the hopes to include the persons name who helped me on the phone however the new review system does not allow this. I called Stratford Village Surgery in relation to my son’s medication and I spoke with a lady (P) who not only showed empathy but also rectified the issue I had (none of which were her fault). There was one outstanding item to be sorted by the doctor however I was content all had been done to help. Within 5 minutes the lady (A) had called me back and also rectified and received a response from the doctor. All issues had been sorted in an excellent manner and my son will have the appropriate medication he needs. The lady (M) in question who I assume answers the phones and helps deal with queries is an example of how health care help should be, as she delivered a high quality of care and help !

My face-to-face GP appointment was very valuable. They listened to the problems raised and attended to them in a professional, thorough and empathic way.
